Hell

I've wasted too much energy trying to convince myself that it will get better.

Like nothing can stay this impossible forever.

It's a shame because I shouldn't be the one convincing myself.

But I'm the only one still fighting

and I'm battling hell.

Can't you see the way I've changed?

Now nothing can ever be the same.

I've tried to run at least a hundred times.

Even though I knew how pointless it was to hide. 

Shattering illusions of what used to be innocence.

Controlling the confusion so we'll never break free of it.

Your strengths are stronger than my every move.

I'm on the verge of giving up so you'll be taking over soon.

My mind has given in to the convincing taste of your power and control.

You made it clear that you own my emotions and now you're coming after my soul.

I didn't make this choice on my own.

It was never meant to be like this.

Now I'm shooting at your demons all alone,

and I can feel you getting stronger every time I miss.

I thought I understood this fight,

Until I was chosen to battle it carelessly and unprepared.

How was I supposed to know that the devil would be waiting there?

It's all becoming real to me now.

You're never going to let me out.

You've locked me in just long enough to make me want to call your bluff.

Contradicting what I thought I knew,

I formed an army to get rid of you.

I thought I'd won for quite a while.

But as it appears, you were only hiding behind my denial.

Now that you've proven how deep you can scar,

You think that you've taken all of my heart.

But I'm not terrified to fight anymore.

I know the consequences of losing the war.

This time I'll be stronger than you.

This time I've got something to prove.

You won't get to help me take my own life.

I'm done keeping your secret.

I'm through with this lie.

So as I sit here in this lonely place that I was tricked into creating for myself,

I'm clawing my way out tonight.

I refuse to stay trapped inside of your hell.
