Braydon

The warmth coated my skin as I woke up with a startle and a smile.

I feel content, happy even, Seff too.

Before I made in attempt to move, my gaze shifted to a certain brunet laying next to me. Her head rested on my chest, our legs entangled in each other, her hand wrapped around my body, her long beautiful hair splayed across the pillows and my arm tucked underneath her.

This was bliss. Granted we didn't do anything last night, she wouldn't allow it considering I still have a mate and is or is not carrying my pup.

And this is what makes her special. Most women wouldn't care if the other woman gets hurt but this girl before me, cares.

With my free arm, I moved the piece of hair from her bangs allowing me to stare into her face. She looks peaceful and I want it to stay like that.

The nightmares didn't come last night. It seems it only comes when I have a very stressful day. And last night it was gratifying.

My cell phone buzzed on the night stand, a call I am receiving. However I was too lazy to move. I didn't want to. I didn't want her to wake. If I could, I could stare at her forever.  I wanted it to be like this, her in my arms. This feels so right.

Is it wrong of me to feel like this. I have a mate after all.

Again, my phone buzz. Reaching out to it with much struggle and trying not to move too much seemed futile because the next moment I witness her eyes flutter open.

She yawned cutely might I add before giving me a confuse look. All sorts of emotions ran to her face, confusion, scared, guilty, then shock and surprise followed by contentment.

"I have never seen someone go through all sorts of emotions within the span of five seconds." I joke.

"Sorry I was a bit taken off guard. I didn't think we fell asleep in each other's arms last night," She blushed before slowly untangling herself.

Grabbing her I push her towards my chest, "Stay." I breathe.

"As much as I would love to we have to get up. I'm sure your mate is worried about you." Guilt evident on her face.

"Why must you bring her up? Are you regretting last night."

"Not in the least." She shook her head, "But until you fully reject her, we cannot be not until that pup is born. Please understand Braydon. If she is carrying your pup then it's the will of the gods. You two are meant to be together."  I love how my name sounds perfect coming out of her mouth.

Leaning away I sat up on the bed, "I refuse to believe that. If the gods wanted Rachel and I to be together, then why do I feel a connection with you. I feel like we have something deep." I sighed in frustration, my fingers running through my hair.

I watch her give me one of her saddest smile, she opened her mouth to say something but close them in stead.

"What?" I asked. She wanted to say something I can feel it but chose not to say it.

"It's nothing important." Sitting on the bed while kneeling on her knees her palms lay flat on her legs, just than an image of something flash through my mind. Something that I was forgetting.

"Please wait for me. I will reject her and I can assure you that pup is not mine." I softly spoke.

Once again my phone buzzed. "I think that's the third time it rang this morning, answer it."

Taking my cell I looked at the caller ID, "Rachel."

"Aren't you going to answer it."

"No, I'll just see her at the pack house."
