/32/ ARE YOU TRUE?

For we are saved by hope; but
hope that is seen is not hope,
for what a man see, why do we
hope for? But if we hope for that
we see not, then we with patience
wait for it.

KHEL'S POV

I woke up feeling empty. Nakahiga lang ako sa kama at nakatulala sa kisame. Something strange is going on. I can feel the weight on my chest.

Ilang segundo akong nagpalamon sa katahimikan, hanggang sa minabuti kong bumangon. As I sat upright from the bed, the calender on the wall greets my eyes.

For the date today, there's a mark on the calendar saying: DAY-OFF.

Relieved, I sighed and ruffled my hair. Today's my day-off. Knowing that there shall be no work for this day, kahit papaano ay medyo gumaan ang pakiramdam ko.

Parang zombie akong tumayo mula sa kama at naglakad papunta sa banyo. I immediately went to the sink, open the faucet and soaked my face with water. Why do I feel empty? It's like something inside of me has to be filled, but I don't know what it is.

And it feels lonely.

Huminto ako sa paghihilamos at sinarado ang gripo. Remain standing in front of the sink, I stare at the mirror before me. Water's dripping all over my face. Heavy breathing, I look at my reflection as if I saw a stranger.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ba 'yon, pero parang may kulang talaga eh.

Do you know the feeling as though you're an unfinished puzzle? There's a missing piece for me to be completed. But the shitty thing is... I don't know "what" that piece is. Or maybe "who" that piece is.

D*mn. I am messed up!

I leaned over the sink and breathe onto the mirror's surface. Dahil dito, naging blurry ang salamin. And with my index finger, I wrote something over that blurry mirror. It says: ARE YOU TRUE, GOD?

I don't know why did I write that. The question just popped up on my head. Tinitigan ko ang isinulat ko sa salamin. Kahit apat na mga salita lang 'to, nababagabag pa rin ako.

I'm confused.

Are You true, God?

TENEN TENENEN! Suddenly, a ringtone was heard. Napakunot-noo ako at naglakad palabas ng banyo, saka sinundan kung sa'n nanggagaling ang ringtone na 'yon.

Napahinto ako nang makitang umiilaw ang phone ko sa ibabaw ng kama. I took my phone and saw a familiar number on the screen. Narri's number is calling.
