A skilled newbie

"Well then, how much experience do you have in terms of soccer?"

The said first year had to first let out a small little squeak at the ace striker's sudden question, before answering

"Um, not exactly experience I would say... I mean, I just started playing around two months ago..."

"O-only two months!?"

Hayami didn't want to seem rude, but he didn't have any better to remark that statement

"Oh great, a total newbie."

"We've all started off as newbies to get to this stage, Kariya."

"R-right."

The said defender couldn't fight back at the senior's very much correct statement, so he simply agreed to his words.

On the field, Hikaru demonstrated very beginner-like dribbling skills, he couldn't even keep the ball in front of him for 30 seconds.

Eventually, the ball rolled away from his feet once again and it rolled all the way to the teal headed defender

"What are you doing? You should be keeping your eyes on the ball when you're moving forward."

"Oh, right! Thanks."

The said first year took his teammate's words for granted, not knowing his true intentions behind it, specially since he didn't notice Kariya's sneaky smirked right as he walked away. But that's not the case with Tenma

"What did you say to him, Kariya?"

"Nothing." Said the teal headed defender with an innocent smile

"Stop lying and just spill the beans."

"You'll see."

Seeing that his friend was refusing to tell him, he immediately deducted that something was about to happen, not that he didn't suspect him from the very beginning.

He positioned himself in a better pose to run if something were to happen to the newly joined teammate, while still locking eyes with the trickster. And next thing he knew...

"Gah!"

Hikaru hit his forehead right against the goalpost

"Pwhahahahaha! Hahahaha!"

"Kariya!"

Even though the brunet spoke to him in a warningly voice, Kariya still couldn't stop laughing

'Why did I let you live!'

Tenma was now seriously regretting his decision to let the defender off the hook after the match against Gassan Kunimitsu, but, nothing he could do now, besides, he first wanted to check if his new friend was at least ok.

He ran up to him and luckily, other than the redness from the hit, nothing severe happened to him

'Good.'

"When you're dribbling, you must look in front of you to know where you're going."

"Got it!"

Despite the sabotaged hit, the player was still pumped with adrenaline running through his veins as he listened to Tenma's words. He got up with the ball in his hands, going all the way back to his initial spot, ready to try dribbling again. As for Tenma, he went back to Kariya's side, seeing that he finally stopped laughing incredulously
