Chapter's Theme Song: Anywhere But Here- Mayday Parade

Chapter Twenty Six

-Kylie Smith-

"Instead of wood shop class, now that you've had your schedule changed, you will have Health and Fitness, third period," the school secretary explained while she handed me a paper with my new schedule on it. "I'm warning you though, you're the only girl."

"But the school policy says that P.E. classes separates male to female?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Please don't tell me that I'll be stuck with a bunch of perverted teenage guys where I'll be the new center of attention. After all that happened last week, being the new target in P.E. is the least I want to happen.

"I'm sorry to say this but the girls' P.E. elective is already full. You're too late, kid," the secretary said in a boring expression as she chew gum like a goat. Wow, I bet this lady is unmarried and hates kids. I hope I don't end up like that in 30 years.

"Sweet," I replied without glancing, "thank you," I said anyways.

"Yeah, yeah."

I wanna scream in exasperation! Agghhh! There is no turning back now. I've already had my schedule changed and there's no turning back anymore!

Dear wood shop class, I will deeply miss you.

A room full of assholes and douchebags. Yay, that sounds like fun!

I walked out of the office to go to my locker. Ugh, my back hurts from carrying a 10-pound backpack with all my heavy books all crammed inside. I think I'll need to go to a massage salon later.

If you're wondering why I have to switch fun wood shop class to a stupid P.E. class, in order to graduate high school, it is required for all students to get their 1.0 Health and Fitness credit; we can either take it for the whole year or take it one per semester and get half a credit. In sophomore, I took P.E. half a semester. This is my final year here at Viking High and as much as I loathe running around in tight shorts with a bunch of people my opposite sex, I have to make a sacrifice.

It's been a week already since Cole and I broke up. One week that I've been sleeping in the guest room, just to avoid seeing him; one week carrying all my books to all my classes because our lockers are pretty near each other; one week since girls finally left me alone and my social status is back to being the geek.

I broke it off because it's not fair to anyone to be with someone when someone else has their heart. It's not fair to me, it's not fair to anyone. I can't always be the second option of everything. No, I won't let that happen no more.

When I asked him if he still loves Erin, and didn't respond, I knew that I have to end it. I had to. Silence is just another way of saying yes.

He never answered your question. So, stop assuming. Unless you hear it directly from his mouth, then stop concluding, another part of me thought.

Then why didn't he stop me? I'd echo.

I'm not oblivious or stupid, because I saw the way he looked at Erin that day in the hallway scene. It kinda sucks to know that he never looked at me like that even for once when he claimed that he likes me.

Yeah, fine. Let's say that he does like me, but maybe that "like" is just a tiny crush. I mean, everyone has those crushes on someone that's not vibrant and strong but it's a tiny feeling you have for them that won't go away. It's just a small crush, nothing more, nothing less.
