Chapter Twenty Eight
-Kylie Smith-
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! This can't be happening!" I yelled as I grabbed some clothes from my closet without even bothering to see it.
"Language!" Mom shouted from downstairs.
"I'm already late!" I cried as I sprinted to the bathroom.
I yanked up shirt up and quickly rubbed the usual deodorant I put, and wore a blue, plain t shirt and a pair of my least favorite pair of jeans, since it's the only clean jeans that I have for right now.
Having no time to brush my teeth, I reached for the mouthwash and gurgled it as thoroughly and quickly as I can.
Grabbing my backpack and sweatshirt, I ran downstairs and slipped into a pair of Uggs.
"Bye Mom! Love you!" I shouted before closing the door and bolted to the bus stop.
Please, please, please let me make it! I didn't mean to forget to set my alarm clock! It is true that I have an English test today! That wasn't just a stupid ass excuse to skip dinner!
"No, no, no!" I cried as I agonizingly watched the bus roll away. It's too late. I already missed the bus. Now, how am I gonna get to school?
One time, I wanted to see how long it takes me to walk from school to home and so I did. Guess what? I got home an hour and a half later. School seems really close but if your choice of transportation is by feet, it will feel like you're getting nowhere.
"How am I gonna get to school?" I whined and bowed my head low in sadness. Today is my IB English test and the cheer leading try out, which I'm not even prepared for. I've been getting a lot of bad days lately.
"Need a ride?"
"Agh!"
A familiar black Toyota car pulled up next to me and that stupid voice belongs to no other than Cole.
"How did you find me?" I asked, startled.
"Hmm let's see," he placed an index finger on his chin and pretended to think. "This is my neighborhood and I live here. This-" he twirled his finger, "is the way I drive to get to school. Maybe, I don't know, I was just driving but then I caught a sight of a very indeed familiar brown haired girl moping around with a frown on her face. Then I told myself, why not make her mood worse by showing myself to her?" he replied with sarcasm. "Nice hair by the way. Did a mother bird hatch an egg in your hair this morning?"
"Shut up, jerk, you're not helping! My day already started badly, and I don't need you in it," I massaged my temples, containing myself to not strangle him, which was difficult because he was only 3 feet away. The temptation is so powerful to reach in and squeeze his pretty little neck.
Oh I almost forgot! My hair must me all over the place! I didn't even brush it and I forgot to tie it up! Maybe Cole is right! It probably looked like a bird's nest!
I took a ponytail from my wrist and tied my hair in a messy, horrible bun.
I roamed my pocket to fish for my phone when I realized that I forgot to take it! Oh my gosh!
"Hey, mind borrowing your phone for a bit?" I asked. "I forgot mine as home because this morning, I was rushing. I'm sure you can see why."
"Why?" he raised an eyebrow. "What are you gonna do with my baby?"
