Chapter 26

Corpse's Perspective ~

I wake up, feeling much better, tangled up with Y/N's warm body. I shift my weight a little so as not to squish her, and wrap my arms tighter around her waist, carefully caressing her stomach with my thumb.

I can't tell if she's awake or not, but as I spoon behind her, I lean into her neck, planting a small kiss just beneath her jaw.

This made her shuffle over, turning to face me after struggling to get out of my arms.
She now faces me, a tender palm to my cheek, as she nuzzles into my shoulder. I smile, resting my head against hers as she closes her eyes, our soft breaths the only things filling the silence of the room.

Kissing Y/N's forehead gently, I smile and close my eyes too - always ever so comfortable while I am embracing her.

I think back to when we first met - it's been more than 7 months - and smile at how embarrassed I was when we first played with our friends together. I wanted to make a good impression on her.

I open my eyes, looking down at Y/N with a grin. "I guess I did..." I whisper under my breath, smirking as I stroke Y/N's hair.

She's my whole world now. I can't imagine what life without her would be like.

Y/N groans a little as she stretches out, shuffling even closer against me - practically on top of me now. I feel my cheeks warm up at her little groan, and smile, remembering our nights together.

I suddenly lose that train of thought as my phone buzzes against the nightstand. I raise an eyebrow, gazing over at the bright screen. It's a text.

Carefully, trying not to make Y/N wake up, I reach over with one hand - the other still stroking her hair - and take my phone.

I unlock it slowly, and look at the message.

The puppy will be ready to be picked up at around 2pm. Hope you can make it.
