Ryan's POV

My eyes fluttered open upon hearing my alarm blazing in my ears. Another sleepless night. I rubbed my head and sat up straight to dismiss the alarm clock set right beside me. I looked around my room only to find it completely out of place. I shook my head while I felt disgusted waking up in a room which looked more like a shopping complex.

Uff Savvy

My head was already aching that I didn't even have the energy to argue with her about all the mess she created. It's an everyday view for me. The very first thing I see when I wake up is chaos that she creates. I've always told her to tidy her things once she's done with it but all in vain.

She's changed a lot over the past few years. It's only her studio and her status. I don't even know if I exist on her priority list anymore. When I proposed the idea of moving in together, I didn't know that I'm promising myself a headache instead of love.

Shaking the thoughts out of my mind, I walked into the washroom to freshen up. I turned the faucet to hot and stepped in to wash off the last night's hangover.

Yes, hangover!

Alcohol has become my confidant now. Every night it comes home with me. It's the only thing that helps me to have a dreamless sleep otherwise, all I do is just think about the inevitable.

After drying myself, I walked into my closet to get ready for office. I opened it when a piece of cloth fell onto the floor. I picked it up in my hands only to be relived through some of the old memories of my old confidant.

It was her scarf.

Brownie's scarf.

It still had her fragrance, her essence.

I brought it closer to my face and sniffed it which brought back all the memories of that night.

It's been 5 years but it still feels like yesterday when she left me. That night I slept on her bed only wishing to see her next morning lying right next to me with that pillow border that she used to make. My lips curved upwards when I thought about her irrational ideas. Unfortunately, it was just a hope. I stared at the pillows and started collecting them to make the border that she used to make right between the two of us. That's when I saw it. She must have forgotten it while packing her things.

Of course, she wasn't in her right mind when she planned it.

Since that day, I've kept it as a souvenir.

"Baby??????? Are you ready??", Savvy, my girlfriend, called out to me from the hall, snapping me back into the reality.

"Will be down in 5 minutes", I replied.

I quickly put it inside and took out my suit to get ready.

I climbed down the stairs where Savvy was already having her breakfast. I took the seat right next to her while she was busy on her phone, checking in with her friends.

"Savvy, at least have breakfast with me and not your social group!", I commented.

"C'mon baby, you know I need to update them about my new outfit every day. After all, I'm the owner of the best fashion studio in the city!", she whined. She was now a successful designer, something that she wanted to become ever since we entered sophomore year.

"Yeah.. maybe that's the reason why you've converted our room into your personal closet", I retorted while resuming my food.

"Don't worry about that! I'll tell Gracie to wind it up. After all, what is she going to do the whole day!", she waved me off.
