Special Education

Nick was working a shift at the Lima Bean, where Delilah unfortunately wasn't on shift with him. So he was just going through the motions having casual colleague chat with his co worker on shift with him. He was whistling a tune when he heard the bell go and he looked up to see a familiar brunette in front of him.
"Hi Miss, how can I help you today?" He leans on the counter. She looks at him amused, "I actually was wondering if that cute barista was here?"
"Oooo okay..." he leans forward, "What does he look like?"
"Messy hair, sings sometimes." Nick clicks at her, "I know the one let me go get him." He walks in the back pretending to go and get someone and then walks back out by himself. The girl laughs at his antics, as he shouts "Found him."
"You want a drink?" Nick smiles at her.
"I would love one. What times your break?" She replies.
"Hmmm now?" He looks around at how dead the place is and tells his coworker he's going on his break.

After making them both a drink he walks over to Delilah who has a book with her.
She puts it down as he smiles at her, "Here is your latte with a shot of caramel."
"I can't believe you remember my drinks order." She looks at him shaking her head in disbelief.
"So Miss Stokes what brings you in here, on your day off?" He asks tapping his chin.
"No reason." She nonchalantly replies looking out the window.
"Oh! Is that right?" He reaches over and takes the coffee away.
"Hey!! Give it back." She lunges over the table as he swats her hand away. Seeing that she's not gonna give in, she leans back over and rolls her eyes, "Okay dork, I came to see you. Happy?"
"Very?" He puts her coffee back, as she takes a sip off it. The two are just talking causally when Nick takes her hand in his own, "How you feeling for sectionals?" She lets out a disheartened sigh, "Truth be told, I'm nervous Nick."
"You don't need to be nervous Delilah? You're amazing. Why do you sing?" Nick asks her.
"I don't know because it's fun and I enjoy it."
She replies.
"Exactly so... get your cute butt up and come sing with me for fun." He holds his hand out.
She groans but eventually stands up,
"Fine."
