Blame It On The Alcohol

Nick was in his room at the Williams household, his phone buzzes and he smiles seeing the name on the screen.

Nick: "Hello, shouldn't you be on a campus tour or Berklee right now?"

Delilah: "I am... but I also wanted to wish you luck for today. I can't stop thinking about you."

Nick: "Thanks Stokes...I mean that thank you for always being there for me, even when I'm being an asshole."

He hears her laugh, causing the corners of his mouth to upturn.

Delilah: "I've got to go but I'll see you when I get back okay? I'm rooting for you Nicholas!"

Nick: "Okay! I'll see you soon have fun!"

It was the morning of the custody hearing and Nick was a bag of nerves. The call from Delilah seemed to calm him for a few moments, but a wave of nausea rushes over him once again.
Wilma and Walt had made him a special breakfast, he felt bad because he could hardly eat any of it, instead just playing rolling it around with his fork.
"Nick honey! Everything's going to be okay!" Wilma had told him about 50 times already, he would politely nod, but he just knew in his gut it wasn't going to be.

He was stood in his room pacing back and forth, Buster watching his every move, "We might be going back to pops today buddy." He stroked the dogs head, just as his name is called from downstairs.
