Nick could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket, he sat opposite Miss Pilsbury trying to remain polite and not look down at the flurry of texts he was receiving.
"Nick so it's good to have you back... how are you feeling?" Miss Pilsbury offers him a warm smile. The corners of his mouth turn up as he looks at her, "Yeah better, much better actually. Thanks Miss P." The woman in a moment of impulsive excitement reaches down and puts 5 envelopes on the desk, "I'm sorry I'm just too excited not to share this with you." She passes them over to Nick who looked back at her
dumbfounded, "What um, what is it?"
"Open them and see." She encourages.

Hesitantly he begins to open the first one, slowly he takes the letter out and his eyes and mouth are wide open in shock, "What?! A full scholarship to Ohio state?" Miss P claps her hands together, "Open the next one." His eyes widen further with each envelope that he opens. Princeton, Minnesota, North Dakota, all offering him a full ride. He looks up at Miss Pilsbury as she tentatively passes him the last one. He opens it and looks back at his guidance counsellor, "This one's for um..."
He hands it back to her, "Yale! Wow Nick I'm so proud of you." He closes his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose, "What do I do?"
She leans forward and looks at him, "You know I can't make that decision for you."
He blows out all the air left in his lungs, "Miss P I just need some time to think... can you keep this between us till then?"
She sees the boys internal turmoil and nods,
"Of course."

Leaving the office he quickly stuffs the envelopes into his bag and pulls his phone out. He sees Quinn's multiple texts asking where he is, but he ignores them and heads down the corridor, he opens his locker, multiple valentines cards falling out, "Hey!" He turns seeing Quinn's frown. He walks towards her slowly, "Hey."
Not realising he's still clutching the cards in his hands. "Where on earth have you been? I thought we were going to come in together today?" She questions, eyeing the cards in his hand and his nonchalant approach towards her. An easygoing chuckle escapes him, "Oh sorry I had to miss rehearsal unexpectedly Miss P wanted to see me." She crosses her arms over her chest, "Well a text would've been nice. Everyone keeps looking at me since they've found out about us... I just wish I had you there with me."
"You're not seriously annoyed at me are you?" He questions, flickers of amusement dancing on his face. "I have to go and study... talk to you later." She turns on her heel.
"Quinn come on? Don't be ridiculous!" He calls after her, she doesn't turn and he looks at her fleeing figure in disbelief, "Oh for fucks sake!"
