The first six games of the season were home games, which was super exciting, it meant that I got to go to every single one of them. There was a box that was available for significant others of the players on the team, so even though there were no fans allowed in the arena, I was happy that I got to go. I switched my class schedules so none of them were 8am classes anymore, which would translate to 5am classes in California. The earliest I had was 7am, which was still stupid early, but a lot more doable. His first game was yesterday, and he played amazingly, I was super proud of him. The second game was today, he was currently standing in front of the mirror fixing his suit as I sat at the desk in the hotel room finishing a class. The class from yesterday got postponed to today, even though it was Saturday.

"Skyler?" The professor, Natalie, asked.

"Yes?" I responded as I turned my mic on.

"Just curious, why you're in a hotel room right now and there's a guy in the background putting on a suit?"

"Oh, um, I'm in California right now, that's my boyfriend. He plays for the San Diego Gulls in the AHL and he's getting ready for his game tonight." I replied, laughing awkwardly.

"Oh? That's impressive, first season?" She asked.

"Is that Jamie Drysdale?" A girl named Rebecca asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Fuck, he's so hot." She said, making me laugh uncomfortably.

"Uh, yeah he is."

"Weird question, but how did you come to date the 6th overall NHL draft pick? Like what did you do?" She asked again.

"I'm not sure this is appropriate." I responded.

"Because you're scared someone's going to take what you say and steal him?"

"Okay, that's enough." Natalie said finally. "But seriously how did you meet him?"

"I met him through interning for the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL last season. One of my coworkers knew that I really liked his play, and she knew one of his assistant coaches and got me to meet him after the game." I said, not really looking at the camera.

"Don't forget that I came out for dinner after the game with your crew, and we were attached ever since." He said, kissing the top of my head.

"So you didn't just start dating him since he got drafted?" Rebecca asked again.

"Nope, been together almost a year now." I told her.

"We've gotten quite off track, can we get back to it now, Rebecca?" Natalie asked. I turned my mic back off, thankful that whatever that was, was over.

"I've gotta head out to the game, but you'll be there, right?" Jamie asked as he put his dress shoes on.

"Yep!" I said, turning to him.

"Good, I'll see you after the game then." He said. He came over to the desk and kissed me passionately.

"Good luck, I love you." I said as he started walking to the door.

"Thank you, I love you most!" He called as he left. I smiled to myself and turned back to the class. It finished after another 45 minutes, and I started getting ready for the game. I put on a pair of jeans, and one of Jamie's hoodies from the Otters. I did my makeup and hair, I was still trying to impress the other wives and girlfriends, trying to make some friends. I grabbed my keys and purse and left the hotel. I shipped my car down here, so I still had my beautiful Golf. I drove down to the arena and parked, getting my pass out from my purse and heading to the door.
