Sent to War

The council was gathered before the war,

The unbalance of this world they must restore.

The opposing mass that threatens their lives,

Must be destroyed if they are to survive.

The eldest of them all rose up to speak,

My brothers, I know that things may seem bleak.

But look in your souls and you too shall find,

That the torment we face shall soon be behind.

Come the next morning, heroes we'll become,

As for our enemy, we'll have them on the run.

Some took his side, others they opposed,

There is no escape from our troubles and woes.

We are outdone by both number and strength,

We must now flee back to our own place.

You are a fool if you think we can win,

All of our hope has been thrown in the bin.

Hours went by and a decision was made,

The army was assembled and told to be brave.

Every last man was called out to fight,

If they succeed they've done what was right.

All of the council blessed every man,

If anyone can win, t'is they that can.

So on the next day they said their farewells,

Know that soon they could be down in hell.

Women would cry and children would sing,

With words of praise to their valiant king.

Can you imagine being forced out to die?

Not being able to break down and cry.

To always look brave and laugh at death,

To say he will never take my last breath.

Yet proudly they marched, to a future unknown,

Wondering if ever they will get to come home.

Show us no pity, for we are all broots,

War is in our blood and soaked in our roots.
