A Leader's Talk

Another day of war and another day of

Death,

Returning to the camp at the soothing call

Of rest.

To ease their dying hopes the general spoke

His mind,

Hoping with these words, his army might

Unwind.

I feel your hurting hearts and I join you in

Your despair,

I know it sometimes seems that no one

Really cares.

But I am always here, my ears will hear

Your plea,

Here we sit as equals, here you're as noble

As me.

When the morning comes, follow me in

Step,

Ride out to our enemy and kill without

Regret.
