I quickly get dressed so Tobias and I can head down to the cafeteria. I know I look exhausted so I try to cover it with some of the makeup Christina gave me but it doesn't work. I still have dark circles under my eyes but they don't look as bad with the makeup on. Tobias looks slightly concerned when he sees the circles under my eyes but it's not the first time I've had nightmares like this. He knows without asking that even though it seem bad I'll be fine.

"You should have woken me up. I'd have helped you go back to sleep," he tells me as we walk to the cafeteria.

I shrug. "I'm fine."

"I know you're fine, but I still could have helped."

"I'd already woken you once, I didn't want to wake you again. Besides, I'm used to having nightmares by now."

"Tris, don't ever worry about waking me up. You shouldn't have nightmares like that and I want to help."

"I'd tell you that I'd wake you up next time but hopefully there's not a next time," I tell him with a smile. He gives me a slight smile in return before we walk into the cafeteria. We each grab a plate of food and coffee and head over to our usual table.

"Shauna what is that?" Christina sheiks as Shauna sits down.

"What's what?" Shauna asks, pretending like she doesn't know what Christina is talking about.

"Oh, nothing, just the shiny thing on your left hand!"

"Oh, that!" Christina glares at her for playing stupid. "Last night Zeke asked me if I would marry him. I said yes." Christina squeals and exclaims that she needs details which prompts Shauna to tell the story. As she goes into details I dive into my pancakes.

After the story there's a short silence until Uriah says that a lot of people are going zip lining tonight since we never went during initiation. I quickly agree to go and so do Lynn, Alex, Christina, and Nick. Zeke already knew about it since he helped plan it and is going as well. Tobias, Marlene, and Shauna decide to stay behind. Although I wish Tobias was going with us I understand why he's not. Even so, my day just got a whole lot better.

Soon my pancakes are gone and we're heading to the Pit to see the new members pick their jobs. It's so weird to stop calling them initiates and start calling them members. I'm so used to thinking of them as initiates based on their previous factions and now they're full Dauntless members.

Once we get to the Pit we see all of the initiates are already there. It's surprising considering some of them had trouble getting to training on time and now they're all here early. Tori's also here to finish up any last second preparations. Tobias, Uriah, Christina and I head over to help her. We quickly help her write out the list of available jobs on the screen behind us for the new members to choose from. Some of them notice and start to look at their options.

"Attention new members of Dauntless," Uriah begins. I don't know what he's doing. "Tonight some of us are meeting at the train to go zip lining. You are all invited. If you want to go be there by 8:30."

"So it's earlier this year?" I ask Uriah. Last year it was around 10 when we left.

"No, I just like messing with them. They're late most of the time anyway," Uriah explains. I laugh slightly but just then Tori starts talking.

"Another year has passed and that means that we have more members joining us. Today they will pick their jobs and get their apartments. That being said, let's begin. The highest ranking initiates get first choice of jobs. Our first ranking initiate this year is Max."

Max walks up to the stage. She doesn't hesitate as she walks up to the microphone and faces the crowed. "I choose leadership," she announces. I see a woman standing next to me, who I recognize from visiting day, smile. Max sees her there and smiles back. She quickly jumps off of the stage when Tori goes to move onto Micah and runs over to the woman. She throws herself into her arms and embraces her in a hug.
