Vampires aren't what you think. Sunlight doesn't afflict us; we don't have fangs; we're not always pale; onions do nothing for your protection; crucifixes...nice try. We might be damned forever, but that doesn't mean we're souless creatures. We have hearts, too, they're just not beating. I'm no different than any other human being except for the fact that I can't be killed easily and I'm dead. I don't enjoy the taste of human blood so my choice of prey consist of bears, bobcats, deer, elk, moose, and rabbits.
