(a/n: This fic is loosely based on the song "Castle" by Halsey.)

It was finally happening. Daenerys was finally heading to Westeros. You smiled softly as you watched her standing on the ship, her eyes focused in front of her. Like her, you'd been waiting for this moment. The moment Daenerys decided it was time to sail for Westeros and for the Iron Throne. She was going to take back the Throne that was taken from her father with you by her side, as always. You were one of the few who believed she could do anything she set her mind to, even conquering the Iron Throne.

For so long, no one believed Daenerys could do it. They believe her brother would conquer Westeros. Viserys was dead now, however, and Daenerys was a Queen. Slowly but surely, she was conquering cities all over and now, she was going to prove everyone wrong. She was going to be Queen on the Seven Kingdoms. You were going to make certain of it.

You followed Daenerys into her cabin. She turned to you and her shoulders slumped. This was the Daenerys only you saw. The one that remembered she was barely out of childhood. The one that felt the entire world on her shoulders and the one that let the words of others get to her. "Are you alright?" you asked. She shook her head. "I do not know. I want to be. I know I can do this, but there are so many others that do not. What if I fail?"

"You will not fail. I will see to it. You will succeed in your quest and then, you tear down these walls and show the people the real you. The woman that can protect and care for them. You are the one that can bring peace to the Seven Kingdoms." Daenerys straightened up and took a deep breath. That was one thing you admired about her. She got over things quickly. "There is no use in crying about this, is there?" You shook your head. "No."

*time skip*

You cheered with everyone else as Cersei's army began to fall. The Gold Cloaks of King's Landing were no match for the Unsullied, Dothraki, Sand Snakes, the armies of Dorne and the Reach, and three dragons. There was one final obstacle for Daenerys now. Cersei herself. The soon-to-be former Queen of Westeros was hidden in the Red Keep with no one but the Mountain to protect her.

Daenerys marched on the Keep, with you at her side. You were no stranger to battle and it was your duty to protect your Queen. The Mountain was waiting for you when you entered the Keep, but you were ready. You attacked first, a bit quicker on your feet than the giant of a man. You moved quickly, striking out as often as you could, gesturing to Grey Worm to get Daenerys to Cersei. As you looked over your shoulder to make sure Daenerys would be safe, you felt the Mountain's blade pierce your skin.

You cried out in pain, but you were determined not to die without taking him with you. You probably wouldn't have succeeded if not for the Dothraki. They came charging in and the Mountain was overwhelmed, giving you a chance to get away. You pressed one hand to your wound and went in search of Daenerys.

When you finally found her, shewas in the Throne Room. She slowly sank down until she was sitting on the IronThrone, the dead body of Cersei Lannister lying next to it. You stared up atyour Queen in awe. Despite everyone telling her she couldn't, Daenerys had doneit. You smiled at her, wincing slightly at the pain in your side. Against allodds, Daenerys had made it straight to the castle and the Iron Throne.
