The Boy Who Saved Me

We look into each other's eyes again. He strokes my check bone, from my ear to my chin lightly, with the back of his hand.
" (y/n), are you alright?"
"Y-yes ... just shaken " I say, lowering my head. once again, he lifts my chin, where I meet his eyes.
"Don't turn away, I want to see your beautiful face." He murmurs softly.

"My love?" He calls in concern   
For a few seconds I still and there astonished that he called me by that name.
"Y-yes?" I stutter
"I will never, let anything like that happen to you ever again. I won't let anybody hurt you like how he was going to, and I will always be here for you. Always, do you understand?"

Tears start to swell up in my eyes. I let them fall. Kid cradles me on the steps to my house door, and I laid my hand on his chest, to feel his perfectly timed heart beat.

I lift my head to see him looking right back at me.
"(Y/n), ...I love you my dear,"
This takes me by surprise.
"I-I-I "-
-" I know you don't feel the same way, but-"
-"I love you to!" I say sobbing
"(y/n)... Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks hesitantly.
"Surely you don't need to ask, you already know the answer." You say kissing him again.
