There was a pole in the middle of the living room.

Upon seeing it, Alec became very confused but at the same time became very curious. Had he noticed it before? Maybe it was there all along and he just never noticed it. He was sure Magnus would've mentioned it at some point.

"Uh....Magnus? Why is there a pole in the center of the living room?" With a finger, Alec poked it to make sure it was real (of course it was. Why wouldn't it be?).

Magnus appeared around the corner. "Oh! It's about time. I ordered this weeks ago. Did you sign for the delivery?"

"Delivery?" Alec watched Magnus wrap a leg around the pole and spin around it. "No, I didn't sign for it. But why do you even have it?"

Magnus spun around on it for a second time. "I think the real question here is: why not?"

Alec gasped. Magnus had climbed the pole with the simplest of ease and was now holding on with just his legs. The warlock looked ridiculous but at the same time he looked incredible and so at ease as he clung to the pole like a monkey.

"I'll tell you a little something about my past if you have a seat on the couch there. But only if you sit down," Magnus winked.

"Alright...." Alec sat down and picked at the leg of his jeans nervously. "What did you want to tell me?"

Magnus slowly slid down the pole. "Have I ever told you the story of when I used to be a pole dancer?"

"No. But that hardly surprises me," Alec cleared his throat. "When was this? Was it recent?"

Magnus shrugged. "Depends on your definition of recent. If you mean within the last 50 years then yes. It was recent." He climbed the pole again and held on with one leg. "It was uncommon for a man to pole dance. It was frowned upon when women did it too but a man dancing on one? I was a disgrace."

Alec frowned. "I'm sorry. It must've been hard for you to go through that."

Magnus waved a dismissive hand. "I found a small community of men and women who accepted all genders who pole danced. They welcomed me with open arms. It wasn't long before I found my calling and I was dancing the night away."

Alec watched as Magnus twirled around and slid down over the pole. Admittedly, he found himself getting slightly turned on by the sight of his boyfriend dancing like this. This was a whole other side of Magnus he never saw before. It was sexy. "Good. I'm glad it all turned out okay. How long did you dance for?"

"Not long. Maybe two or three years before I gave it up. It wasn't until a friend of mine who was selling their club did I strike up an interest in buying the pole that was there."

Alec reached out to touch the pole with a hand. "Why didn't you just buy the club?"

"I already have a club. I don't need two. I have a life outside of clubbing, you know."

"Oh." Alec immediately retracted his hand. "So....are you going to show me a few of the moves you used to do back in your pole dancing days?"

Magnus smirked wickedly. "Would you like to see a few of my moves, Alexander?"

Alec blushed. "Yes. If you don't mind showing me, that is."

The warlock wrapped a long and powerful leg around the pole with a smirk. "As you wish, my love. But first...." He snapped his fingers. Music began to play from the stereo on the table against the wall. "Let the music play."

When the beat dropped, Alec could feel the bass in his chest. But that wasn't the only thing that dropped. Magnus had climbed as high as he could go on the pole and he just dropped, catching himself using only his legs which caused Alec's heart to skip a beat. But the warlock merely smirked and continued to dance for him.

"Did you get paid to dance?" asked Alec once Magnus slowly slid around the pole. "I mean, I know you got paid. It'd be silly if you didn't-" He was cut off when Magnus reached over and planted a finger on his lips to silence him.

"You talk too much," Magnus whispered. "You're one of my noisier clients who like to chat through the whole thing instead of just shutting up and enjoying it."

Alec shut up after that.
