I've always wanted to write a gender bend one shot and FINALLY someone requested one. This one is for @puplove321. Enjoy!

Alec pulled her raven black hair back into a ponytail before taking up her bow and aiming at her target. The arrow landed with a thump in the middle of the bullseye.

"Alec," said a deep voice. The voice belonged to her younger brother Isaac. Tall and broad, he was an imposing sight if you weren't used to having him around. "Mom's been looking for you all day. Were you hiding again?"

"Can you blame me? You'd hide too if you had Maryse Lightwood looking for you," Alec rolled her eyes and notched another arrow in the bowstring. "What does she want this time?"

Isaac shrugged. "She just wanted to say goodbye before she headed back to Idris. Of course your pansy ass wouldn't know that because you've been hiding all day."

With an exaggerated sigh, Alec dropped her bow. "I'll send her a fire message later. Did she take Max with her?"

"Yeah. She's going through her last trial now." Max (or Maxima) was their youngest sibling who was still in training. She was about to receive her first rune soon. "Anyway, Jacey and Clark are back from patrol. They brought a guest."

"A guest?" Alec perked up. "Who is it?"

Isaac smirked. "Why don't you come see for yourself?"

The main room where the Shadowhunters kept their computers and other technology was crowded. A small group of them were gathered around Clark and Jacey as they spoke and told their story about something that happened while they were on patrol.

"And then this vamp comes out of nowhere and tries to take a bite out of me! I have physical proof!" Jacey Lightwood pulled her blonde hair out of the way to expose her neck. "Luckily I killed it before it could take a chunk off me."

"I think you're suffering from short term memory loss. Or selective memory. I killed it. Not you," Clark Fairchild rolled his eyes, his floppy red hair falling into his green eyes. His face was flushed with exertion (probably from trying to keep Jacey in check) which made his freckles disappear.

They weren't alone. Beside them stood a young woman with short black hair that was shaved on the sides and tied back into a small bun. She wore very exquisite (and expensive) looking jewels on her fingers, along with some kind of exotic shirt that Alec had never seen before and kind of wanted for herself. This woman's golden skin glowed under the light of the institute and her dark eyes looked around at the crowd of Shadowhunters around her.

Before they stopped on Alec.

Alec felt her heart beat faster all of a sudden when this woman's eyes stopped and gazed at her lovingly. She was about to break the gaze and go back into hiding when Isaac shoved her forward towards her parabatai.

"Dude! I can't believe Clark killed the vampire and you didn't! Are you losing your mojo?" Isaac teased.

"You're going to lose something too if you don't keep your mouth shut," Jacey snarled. "Besides. I let Clark kill it. It'd be good for him to get a little experience out in the field anyway."

The three began to argue while the dark haired woman approached Alec with a smile. Her many rings glinted under the lights above as she wiggled her fingers into a wave.

"Hello. I don't believe we've met before. I'm Magnus Bane," she smiled, her eyes friendly.

"Alec," Alec forced out. She had forgotten how to use her vocal chords for a second. "I don't mean to sound rude or anything but who are you exactly?"

Magnus chuckled. "Sorry. Didn't formally introduce myself. I'm the High Warlock of Brooklyn. I thought you knew that already?"

Alec felt stupid after realizing that she was indeed the High Warlock. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean-"

"Relax. It's fine. Besides," Magnus leaned in closer to Alec, "I kind of like not being recognized."

Before she could respond, Alec was rudely interrupted by her younger siblings.

"Alec! We got a heads up on a Valentine sighting. There's a meeting being held right now," Isaac said. "They want you there too, Magnus."

Magnus clapped her hands together. "Excellent. I love attending meetings that are filled with racism and snide discriminatory remarks," she glanced at Alec and winked. "Should be fun."
