Breathe

There was something oddly relaxing about watching Alec breathe. Even if they weren't talking to one another, Magnus found an odd sort of comfort in watching the Shadowhunter's move up and down. It looked like a dance, and he made it look so easy. He was graceful and smooth and every movement seemed expertly calculated. Not a breath out of place.

Just when he thought Alec wasn't looking, the hazel eyed Bambi hunched over to grip Magnus' legs and splay them over his own. When he made this movement, Magnus inhaled sharply. The muscles in Alec's back shifted and contracted under his white t-shirt with every movement he made. He particularly liked the way the sleeves tightened around Alec's biceps when he flexed.

After what seemed like forever, Alec finally sat up to admire his boyfriend. "There. Now you can rest your legs."

Magnus sat beside him and looked at the beautiful man. "I was fine the way I was, you know."

Alec's breath came out as a huff. "Geez. I just thought you'd be more comfy this way."

Magnus had no idea how to respond to that. It was obvious that this was Alec's way of trying to be nice. "I know. And thank you for thinking of me."

Alec's hand unconsciously reached up and touched his face. "Sorry. Didn't mean to snap at you."

"I know. Which is why I told you that you need to stop thinking of me. You're making me feel selfish," Magnus laughed and placed a gentle hand over Alec's. "Come on. Let get comfortable on the couch together for a while. Let your body relax for a bit."

"But my training...." Alec groaned.

"No one's going to crap on you for not training for one night. I promise."

Alec nodded. His body actually did feel tired, and his legs felt like jelly the longer he tried to keep himself upright. He didn't tell anyone that his sleep last night was a restless one; he tossed and turned as he tried to escape the people in his nightmare, but it was no use. He woke up that morning drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. Not even training could calm him down.

Magnus sensed Alec's uneasiness. "I was thinking we should have a tv show marathon. Your pick. We'll start right from the beginning and get in as many episodes as we can today. How does that sound?"

Shrugging, Alec got comfortable without saying a word. Magnus followed close behind, rambling on about Netflix ruined his life and how he once spent an entire week binge watching a show called Dexter. He would've been paying more attention if it wasn't for the throbbing pain coming from in his head. He tried to focus on Magnus as he talked, but his head felt overwhelmed with everything that was going on.

"Alec. Are you okay?" Magnus asked.

Alec moaned. "No. Sore. So much pain. It won't go away."

Magnus held his hand and gave it a squeeze. "I saw some A5-35 in my bathroom. Maybe if I put some on you, it might help ease the pain a bit? Or would you prefer magic?"

Alec nodded. He didn't particularly like that ointment mainly because of the strong smell, but at least it would help with his aching side. But Magnus had already disappeared into the bathroom to get the ointment, so he took the liberty of taking off his shirt.

"There's not much left but I think I can-oh. Oh wow....." Magnus stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Alec up on his feet, taking off his shirt. He was back on to Magnus, but Magnus had no complaints. He liked the view of Alec's broad back and shoulders as they moved slowly to accommodate Alec's sore head. He tried not to look at the way Alec's hips narrowed into his sweats, but obviously he failed miserably if he inhaled sharply at the sight of two small dimples in Alec's lower back. "Uh.....you ready? I found the cream."
