Kate P.O.V.
I woke up the next morning feeling totally relaxed. I picked up
my phone from the bedside table to look at the time. It was six p.m.;
I almost screamed. There was no way that I had slept for almost
eighteen hours. Christian walked into the room and seemed
surprised to see that I was awake.
“Hey, sleepyhead, how are you feeling,” he asked.
“Better,” I croaked; how embarrassing.
“Good, are you hungry,” he asked.
“Yes,” I said, sounding clearer.
“What do you want to eat?”

know how to trust people...” she trailed off. Kate still wasn’t
meeting my eyes. I gently grabbed her face in my hands so that
she had to look at my eyes.
“Kate, what is it going to take for you to understand that
