“Christian,” I called as I crawled out of bed. I kept calling his name while I
descended the stairs until he finally answered.
“I’m in the kitchen,” he told me. The smell of food hit me as I neared the
kitchen.
“What are you doing in here,” I asked him.
“Cooking a little breakfast,” he smiled.
He stopped cutting up potatoes to give me a kiss.
“You are simply amazing,” I said. “Hey, I was wondering if you want want to
go and hang out with Nate and Brittney today if they can. What do you say?”
“We have to do our homework first,” he told me.
“We’ll catch up on it tomorrow,” I said.
“Kate, we have to do the schoolwork,” Christian replied. “I know that you hate it,
and believe me I hate it too, but it’s just something that we absolutely have to
do.”
“Fine, but only a little bit,” I told him.
“Come here you,” he said gabbing my hand and gently pulling me close to him.
“What the heck,” I said laughing.
“Stop being so bratty,” he grinned.
“How am I being bratty,” I asked offendedly.
“Just calm down,” he told me still kind of laughing. “How about you go pick out
a movie for us to watch while I finish cooking breakfast?”
“So we can watch a movie before we do work, but we can’t hang out with our
friends?”
“After we’re done eating we’ll do our work. Once we finish our work we’ll go
hang out with our friends, silly,” he answered.
“Oh, jeez,” I said exasperatedly.
“Why are you so mad,” he asked me.
I stared at him for a minute surprised that he would ask me that. Then I noticed
that he was right, I was kind of mad.
“I’m sorry, I guess that I’m just stressing myself out way more than I should,” I
said rubbing my eyes.
“Do you want to talk about anything,” he asked me.
Before I could answer, my mom walked into the kitchen and said, “What are you
making?”
“Just breakfast,” Christian answered nonchalantly. “Eggs, bacon, and hash
browns.” You could tell that he was proud of himself.
“I’m going to go take a little nap; you better make sure that you come and get me
