Kate’s P.O.V.
Dr. Grey met us at the front desk of the hospital.
“How are you doing,” he asked.
“I’m fine, but how’s my mom, “ I asked.
“She’s quite upset right now, but once we get her calmed
down, she should be okay.”
“She’s upset,” I asked.
“Yes, because she wants t see you right away,” Dr. Grey
answered.
“Oh, okay,” I said. We walked up to my mom’s hospital
room where we found her arguing with the nurses.
“Mom, calm down,” I told her as I entered the room.
“Oh, Kate, there you are,” my mom said obviously relieved
that I was there.
“Yep, I’m here; now listen to the doctor and nurses,” I told
her sternly.
“Kater, where are you going,” my mom asked me as I turned
to leave the bedside.
“I’ll be right back,” I assured her. “I just have to talk to Dr.
Grey.”
“What did you want to talk about,” Dr. Grey asked me as I
led him out of the room and into the hall.
“Did the baby survive all of this,” I asked.
“We don’t know yet since your mother wouldn’t let us do any
tests until she saw you first,” he answered.
“Okay, that’s all I wanted to know,” I said.
“I’m going to tell you this, though,” Dr. Grey replied. “There
is a great chance that the baby didn’t survive.”
“Okay, thanks,” I told him, then we headed back into my mom’s
hospital room.
“Miranda,” Dr. Grey said to my mom, “will you let us do the
tests now?”
“Sure,” my mom answered.
“Okay, now we can discuss when you’re going to be released,”
Dr. Grey said. “We’re going to have to keep you for a few days
just to make sure that you’re doing okay. If everything looks
like it, then you can go home. You will need to make sure that
you see a doctor sometime soon after you get home just to make
sure you’re doing okay. When you were in a coma, your wounds
were still healing. Now, they’re not completely healed, but they’re
close enough to being there. Once you get home you need to make
sure that you stay as calm as possible, and take it easy for a few
