Kate
Soon the silence became unbearable so I said, “What exactly did you want to
talk about?”
“Oh, sorry I must have gotten lost in my own thoughts,” Brittney said. “Have
you ever just had those moments where you just sit there and ask yourself if
something is real?”
“I guess so, but what exactly did you bring me in here to talk about,” I asked.
“I don’t know, I guess I kind of thought that you had something to talk about
with me. What I mean is that since yesterday afternoon I’ve been getting the
feeling that you have something to tell me.”
“Huh, that’s weird,” I said. “I wasn’t really going to tell you, but since you
mentioned it I might have a couple possible things that might be wrong with
you. Of course, I’m no doctor I’m just going off of what I searched on the
internet.”
“What do you think is wrong with me,” Brittney asked.
“My first possible diagnosis is that you might be pregnant,” I said.
“How the heck can I be pregnant,” Brittney exclaimed.
“I don’t know, but once you think about it there’s a very possible scenario as
to how you could be pregnant,” I explained.
“Like what,” she asked.
“Maybe the first time you and Nate had sex you forgot to take your birth
control, and then the condom might have broken,” I suggested. “I honestly
don’t know, but when I searched your symptoms that’s what came up.”
“What’s your second thing that you think might be wrong with me,” Brittney
asked.
“It could me endometriosis,” I answered.
“What the heck is that,” she asked.
“I can’t really remember what exactly it is. All that I know is that it cause
really bad pelvic pain,” I told her.
“What about stomach cancer,” she asked quietly. “Did any of my symptoms
match the symptoms of that?”
“Yeah, but those symptoms don’t show up until a later stage of the cancer,” I
said.
“So are you saying not to worry or to worry?”
“I honestly am saying to not worry,” I said. “No matter how sucky it sounds, I
think that you’re either pregnant or have endometriosis..”
“Is endometriosis like cancer,” Brittney asked quietly.
