Ignorance, is never forgivable when one is aware something can be done to cure it. Mediocrity is never acceptable if there is a way to reach Excellence. Having the "best things in life", such as family, a home, and money is use less in the presence of narrow-mindedness. It is never acceptable to say, "Sorry, I am not capable of something more," or to blame level of intelligence and understanding on genes or environment or education when there are resources within reach, when there is freedom to be more than what one already is. If I am stupid, I must work on my intelligence. If I do not understand, then I must make an effort to understand. If I am shallow, then I must learn to be deep. If i am narrow, then I must widen my perspective. It is not God or anyone else who will do these for us, but ourselves. To improve intelligence and understanding is hard work but I must do it. Why? To avoid hurting others just because I did not know, just because I did not understand. A mediocre person will not understand how his ignorance can make other people suffer. But his ignorance does not change others suffering. To chase after God's wisdom, to be the most ethereal and beautiful version of ourselves, is the highest gift we can offer Him who has given us faculties higher than that of other creation, and it is what we must do if we are to be stewards of His earth, the way He has assigned us to be.
