I followed Hope back into the main living area and we looked over the room again. Everything seemed like a standard luxury sweet. There were no personalized touches anywhere. The place was fully stocked like an apartment would be. Pots and pans were in the cabinets, there was food in the fridge, linens in the closets. Everything had a place, but the drugs and alcohol were laid out like they were placed there to be found.

We moved back to the bedroom and I examined a similar display, but with sex toys instead of drugs. There were all different shapes and sizes of toys meant to please both women and men. Also neatly stacked and lined up with the most impressive ones on the bed next to the body.

"Have you found any type of sexual assault on him?" I asked Hope. As well as being naked, the bed was made under the body, so he was completely uncovered. I couldn't think of a reason all the sex toys would be laid out next to a naked, dead body if there wasn't something sexual implied.

"I haven't done a full examination. But from what I can see, no. It looks like a clean murder, nothing else."

"Alright, well we need pictures and an inventory of all of this."

"Oh wow, Detective Seeks. I never would have thought of that. Thank you for your wonderful input!" Hope was great at sarcasm and I really appreciated that about her.

"Yeah, okay. I'm sorry, obviously you know that. I forget the talent I'm working with sometimes," I replied as I gave her a smile and a wink. "Do you know if anyone has notified family yet?"

"I don't think so. I know we're working the case. And unless Moore got out of bed before 5 AM to tell the wife, you and I are the only ones here so far."

"Alright, well I'll grab an officer and notify her. See if she knows anything. Do you need me here?"

I knew she was going to give me sass before she opened her mouth. "Not right now Detective. But I'll let you know if I have any more questions on what needs to be photographed." Even though I knew her well enough to know she was joking, her smile reassured me that I hadn't offended her. "I'll text you the name and address of the wife."
