Zayn’s POV

“This weekend is the judges houses and a double bill as the X Factor goes global. The judges are joined by special guests, Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, Mark Anthony, and Will.I.Am. 24 fight for a spot in the live final. Who will survive?”

“I swear if Demi cuts them…” I warn, casting a glance at Niall to see if his expression will give away if they made it or not.

“Hey don’t look at me,” he says, raising his arms in mock surrender. “I told her not to tell me because I knew you guys would grill me,” he says with a smirk. I let out a huff, crossing my arms as I slump down, looking back at the TV.

“Don’t worry about it mate. I’m sure she’ll get through,” Louis says, patting my shoulder. The show continues, showing everyone’s excitement about going to whatever location they are going to. I frown slightly as it shows a clip of Emily launching herself at one of the other groups, a huge smile on her face, but it’s quickly gone as I let out a laugh as the groups, all gathered at the LA airport, find out they are staying in LA. Harry lets out a whistle as a few of the girls are shown swimming and Liam smacks him in the chest

“What? They’re fit!” He says with a laugh. “Maybe I should start messaging contestants also.”

“Harry, Zayn did it because he likes the girl, you’d be doing it for all the wrong reasons” Liam says. Harry starts to retort but I quickly shush them as the girls appear on the screen.

“Up next is Ladies First. Having not made it through as single acts, the judges thought they were too good to pass up, so Simon, having assembled the world famous band One Direction, suggested putting them together as a group. As the night comes to an end, it’s Ladies First first performance as a group.”

“Hello ladies” Demi says with a smile.

“Hi” they all say in unison.

“Are you girls ready?”

“More than anything” Emily says earnestly. Demi nods for them to begin and the guitar starts.

Grew up in a small town

And when the rain would fall down

I'd just stare out my window

Dreaming of what could be

And if I'd end up happy

I would pray

Trying hard to reach out

But when I'd try to speak out

Felt like no one could hear me

Wanted to belong here

But something felt so wrong here

So I pray

I could breakaway

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly

I'll do what it takes ‘til I touch the sky

And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change

And breakaway

Breakaway

Breakaway

“Thank you girls” Demi says with a smile and they disappear off screen as the next group appears.

“God Niall, why couldn’t you have just asked her?” I say frustrated that now I’d have to wait to find out if they made it.
