Chapter 12

Ella sighed as she shut he blinds angrily and Let out a sigh before throwing herself down on her bed with her head in her hands.

She didn't know what to do anymore. Everything was just stressing her out and everyone was acting differently.

She laid down and closed her eyes and began to think back to Valentine's Day

"Come on Ella just do it. It's only a dollar and you get to find your one true love" Sherri says and hangs her arms over her best friends shoulder

"I already have my one true love and your so cliche. I'm happy with Montgomery. There's no one else that I'm looking for" Ella said with a smile and playfully shoved Sherri

"Come on El you don't know tbat for sure. Maybe there's some one better for you than Montgomery. Someone who's like less angry or violent or something" Jessica states as she walks up to them and wraps her arm around ellas shoulder also so she was squished between them

Ella rolled her eyes at her two best friends and shrugged their arms of her shoulders and walks ahead of them

"Well thanks for hiding the fact you don't like my boyfriend" Ella says sarcastically with a laugh "Monty makes me happy guys. I don't want anyone else"

"Hey Ella I was thinking the two of us could do the dollar valentine thing. I want to get one but I'm kinda worried" Hannah baker states as she looks over at the cheerleader

Ella closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before turning to her friend "sure Hannah yeah. The girls were tryna get me to do it earlier but I said no but they were pretty upset about it"

Hannah smiles and nods her head okay and then they walk to the gym and pay their dollar and grab the sheet of paper before sitting down on the bleachers at the back sitting cross legged and facing each other

"First question are you female or male. I don't really know" Ella says with a big grin but then ticks the column that says girl.

The two girls discussed their answers and laughed together as they went through the sheet of long questions

"So how are you and Montgomery going" Hannah asks and looks up from her price of paper and notices the giant smile that crosses ellas face and they way her eyes lit up at the mention of the boys name

"We're going really good. I mean I was kinda upset with him last night and we got into an argument cause he and Bryce walker went out and were caught drinking at a party by the cops but luckily they didn't get in trouble. I just get worried about him sometimes you know. It's like I know that he can look after himself but he does things to show that he's still a little kid that needs to be looked after. I don't want him getting in trouble and I just told him how he needs to be more careful" Ella says with a sigh and looks down at her paper and Hannah could tell that the girl was upset

"Did he get mad"  Hannah asks quietly and Ella nodded her head And Hannah begins to get worried and she notices the bruises on her wrist "how mad did he get"

"Just a little" she mumbles and then looks up to Hannah and quickly gives her a smile but both girls knew that it was fake "now let's finish these surveys already"

"I knew you wanted to do it. Come on give me the sheets and you'll get your results" Sherri says and holds her hand out with a large smile and Ella hands the sheet to her and Sherri puts all of the answers into the machine

"So who do you think that your gonna get" Sherri asks with a giant smile

"Montgomery of course" Ella says confidently and the paper begins to print out and Sherri grabs it and hands it to ella excitedly

"So who did you get" Sherri asks and Jessica comes up next to Sherri with a grin on her face too

"Yeah come on who did you get" Jessica said excitedly and leaned toward Ella and Ella began to read her list and her eyes widened at the results and  her jaw dropped and she looked into her best friends eyes nervously

"So who did you get. Give me the names in order" Sherri smiles

"1. Zach Dempsey
2. Jeff Atkins
3. Justin Foley
4. Dallas Winston
5. Montgomery De La Cruz" Ella says sadly and with surprise

"Hey at least he's on the list right" Jessica asks with a smile and Ella copies her smile

"Yeah. Yeah your right" Ella says quietly and then shoved the paper deep down into her bag and then left the gym and then bumped into Hannah as she turned to corner and Hannah stopped when she noticed the stressed look on the girls face

"Hey Ella are you okay" Hannah asks and grabs the girls wrist and notices Ella winds and Hannah quickly lets go and apologises

"No it's fine I'm fine. I just got my results back for the oh my dollar valentine and was a little shocked with the results that's all. How did you go" Ella asks with a fake smile on her face. She was getting pretty good at that now

"Oh if your worried about your results you shouldn't be. I don't think the things 100 percent accurate anyways. I wasn't to happy when I saw mine either but apparently Marcus got me and were going out later tonight" Hannah says with an excited smile

"Oh that's great. I don't really talk to him that much but he seems like a really nice kid. Montgomery didn't want to do anything tonight but I'm pretty sure he just forgot about it till he saw all the decorations at school today" Ella says with a laugh and plays with the ring on her finger that Montgomery had gotten her for her birthday last year

"Yeah that's what Sherri said" Hannah says and nods her head

Ella notices Montgomery talking to Bryce and Marcus down the hall high fivinf each other with giant grins on their faces

"Yo Emblen get your short ass over here" Ella heads and turns her eyes away from Montgomery and turns to see Zach walking over to her with a giant smile on his face

"Hey Z what's up" Ella asks and Zach begins digging in his pocket and pulls out a small box

"Elley I got you something" Zach says and gives her the box with red cheeks and she looked at him in confusion but took the box and opened it and it was a small golden charm bracelet with small charms on it

"Wow Zach it's beautiful" Ella said with a smile and Zach carefully took it out of her hands then clipped it around her wrist and he tried to ignore the bruises. After all the two of them had talked about it a million times and it only upset Ella and he didn't want to do that "thanks Zachy"

Hannah stares at the two in confusion. Ella was dating the de la Cruz boy but there seemed to be more happiness in Zach and Ella when they were together. Hannah didn't like Zach but she liked Zach and Ella as a couple a lot more than she likes Montgomery and Ella. 

Zach looked at the girl with light in his eyes and even though Ella didn't notice it Hannah did and so did everyone else
