"Seriously dude that's bullshit" Alex scoffs and Ella nods her head and tried to ignore the continuous small glances that Zach had been giving her while they sat at the small lunch table outside of school "He got suspended for three days that shit goes on his record"

"Yeah I don't really care. At least we shut him up" Marcus says to Alex and rolls his eyes which causes Ella to let a scoff escape her lips

"Well you should care Marcus. He's a good kid, he loved Hannah and he's hurt" Ella says while glaring at Marcus, the boy who should have been spending his high school years looking after the students but had somehow ended up on Hannah Bakers suicide tapes and was now hiding weed in Clay Jensens bag

"We kept him out of school for three days. I don't think that we shut him up" Zach says I'm a harsh tone as he stares at Ella waiting for her to say something to him but she didn't. She had been ignoring him since that night on the rock cliff and he didn't know how to feel about it.

"Okay you guys wanna take him in another ride. Cause that worked so well. But maybe don't bring miss PTSD on it with you next time" Marcus says angrily which causes Ella to roll her eyes and Zach to get defensive

"Shut up Marcus" Zach growls and leans away from the table

"His credibility is shot" Courtney says to the group "no one is going to believe anything he says

"Why is she even here" Ella asks angrily

"Why are you?" Courtney asks

"Come on guys we need to figure this out alright" Marcus says to the two girls who were both sending death glares to each other and the tension around the table had increased by at least eighty percent

"What happens when he plays them the tapes. Or until tony does" Zach says angrily and Ella frowns but then a smile makes its way into her face when she notices Ryan making his way over to their table with a lunch tray in his hands

Ella Didn't like what the boy had done but she did like the boy. Most of the time he was sweet and he just wanted to stand up for what he believed in. He made bad choices but so does everyone else right?

"Yeah what happened there?" Marcus asks and Ella and Ryan exchange smiles as he sits down at the table with them

"I tried. Tony wouldn't budge. He's got the tapes hides somewhere and this medieval self-flagellating moral code. We have to do this the other way" Ryan says

"It's back to clay" Courtney says with a sigh

"Come on guys can't we just leave him alone?" Ella says angrily "he's a good fucking kid. He used to be a real good friend of mine"

"If he's talking to Jessica about her party. It may be too late" Courtney says and Ella looks down at her hands as she remembered that night. It was The worst night of her life and everyone at that table knew it. Ella looked up when she felt a hand on her shoulder and she was met with zachs warm baby brown eyes and he gave her a comforting smile which she tried to return but couldn't

"Okay why are we defending Bryce?" Ryan and Ella both asks in confusion and annoyance

"Can someone tell us that please" Ella asks angrily and then Ryan adds on "I mean come on he's a fucking rapist" Ella nods her head
