A few minutes after we had all settled down. The teacher lumbered in, a tall, wiry, bald fortyish looking man in black baggy trousers and tucked in plain blue long sleeved shirt. As he taught he didn't seem to mind the fact that few students were talking amongst themselves. He seemed pretty laid-back.

"I need a favor from you, pretty pretty, pretty please with vanilla ice cream and strawberry sprinkles on it." She whispered smiling and batting her lashes in an appealing manner

"What is it ?" I whispered back

"Please wait with me after school, I volunteered to assist the art teacher, she's my favorite teacher. You won't have to do anything, i swear. Just sit there and look pretty. Please." She begged

"I'll wait behind with you, you don't have to entreat me so much." I told her laughingly.

Soon the bell signifying the close of the last period rang and students trooped out of their classes, relieved smiles plastered on their lips as they conversed with one another.

Cara led me to the art room all the while pointing out various buildings whilst making enlightening comments on them to help familiarize me with the school system.

The strikingly beautiful young lady smiled sweetly at her, thanking us for coming and offering me a seat. Soon they had both began the task of arranging art works, filling in missing pieces of some very nicely done collage works and neatly folding tie dyed clothes.

"Cara, I'll need to trouble you with a request." The lady said in an apologetic tone

"What's it miss Annabelle?" She asked eagerly

"Could you quickly fetch me staple pins from the staffroom upstairs?, it's in the huge black cabinet really close to the door, thank you." She flashed her a sweet smile

Cara turned to me the plea clear in her eyes

"I've doused my hand in gum, could you please get it for me ? I'll owe you one."

"I'll go, just give me directions." I reassured her

"It's three doors ahead of our classroom's. It's impossible to miss. Thank you, you're a sweetheart"

I chuckled lightly "I should be able to locate it fairly easily."

The school looked pretty deserted. Had we really spent so much time in the art room? or did the students hate school so much they left as quickly as they could? I couldn't help but marvel.

I focused as hard as I could in order not to go off track. Before long I came across our classroom. I decided to confirm by looking in through the windows. I couldn't afford to be overly confident.

On closer inspection i realized it was truly our classroom. I looked away quickly, bumping into someone. I had been so caught up with not losing my way that I hadn't even noticed the person I had bumped into.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be the exact person I had made up my mind to have nothing to do with, Cole. Luck just seemed to not be on my side today.

I tried not to grimace muttering a sorry and making a move to get past him. He immediately got in front of me, obstructing the pathway. What exactly was this guy's deal ?

"Actually i should be apologizing to you, I'm sorry." He smiled softly

"It's alright" i smiled, a feigned smile.

"You know if you had come by a few minutes earlier, you'd have heard me play the piano. I play really well." He stated grinning brightly

I stared longingly at the glimpse of the door I could see, I replied distractedly "That's nice"
