I tried calling his number but it didn't go through. The perks of a private number, I thought sarcastically. I decided to send a text with the hope that he would reply tout de suite. Thankfully, serendipity was on my side for once because as soon as I sent him a 'what did you do to Mrs.johnson?' he replied.

Private number: the imperative

Me: she's in a very critical condition, this was was am unquestionably redundant move on your part

Private number: she was mean to you

Me: so?

Me: that's enough justification on your attempt to murder her?

Private number: affirmative

Me: what exactly is wrong with you ?

Me: don't you understand?

Me: Can't you see how utterly wrong this is ?

I felt as though I was explaining to a toddler why it was wrong for him to pick random items and put them into his mouth. A waste of time.

Private number: No, I can't

Me: how do you expect me to live with myself if something goes wrong in the hospital and she doesn't survive for crying out loud?

Me: My conscience would never let me rest

Private number: when it does go wrong, don't attribute it to yourself

Private number: think of it as me being me, a disturbed teen

Private number: that shouldn't be too ardous for you

Me: easy for you to say, you think my conscience listens to common sense ?

I suddenly paused in realization

Me: wait a minute, what exactly do you mean by when it does go wrong, what exactly does that mean?!!!

Private number: I heard she was taken to Luxembourg

Private number: I'll be calling doctor Otis to cash in a favor he owes me

Me: what???!!!

Me: look what ever plan it is you've come up with, please abort it, please. I promise I'm not hurt anymore. I was a little bit upset but I'm okay now. Look on the bright side, I've even made new friends.

Me:please

Me: are you there ?

Me: say something

Me: please!!

Me: hello ???

Private number: fine, I'll do it but on one condition

Me: what is it ?

I asked dread filling every fiber of my being

Private number: you'll go on a date with me

Me: I don't think that's a good idea

Me: there must be something else, we can come to a compromise on

Private number: it's a date not a lifelong contract

Me: I don't trust you
