Immediately I arrived at my house, I kicked off my foot wear hastily and clumsily threw myself on the bed still fully attired in my uniform and socks. I unzipped the smallest pocket on my back pack and took out my phone. I checked the battery percent to my relief it was half full. I decided to get the issue that had been niggling at my mind all day out of the way. I scrolled through my phone and clicked on Cole's and I messages
Me: did you set up the fight ?
I was startled with how he quickly he replied. It was almost as though he had been anticipating my message.
Private number: what do you think?
Me: I don't know
If I knew I wouldn't be texting him now, would I?
Private number: I didn't set up the fight
Me: but you did something didn't you?
I shouldn't have felt any atom of surprise, but for the oddest of reasons I did.
Private number: he was being a jerk to you
Me: you can't go around hurting everyone who hurts me
Private number: yes, I can and I will
I felt as though I was explaining myself to a wall
Me:what exactly did you do?
Private number: sent him the cupcakes
Me: his friend ate the poisoned cupcakes and is now in grave danger. What if he dies?
Private number: I used a low dosage of lidocaine, in a day or two he'll be completely recovered
Private number: but anyways, that should probably give the dislocated arm enough time to heal
I sat up straight backed on my bed suddenly very alert
Me: what dislocated arm?he left the school with both arms intact
Private number: but he won't return with them intact
Me: look whatever diabolical plan you've come up with, abort it. It's absolutely unnecessary he's gotten a two weeks suspension. Isn't that enough ?
Private number: No, it's not
Private number: he needs to learn
Me: you're doing too much, this utterly unnecessary
Private number: persuade me, change my mind
Me: how?
Private number: tell me a story, if I'm satisfied he gets to return with both arms intact. If I'm not he'll return with one arm healing from a cast
Me: I'm not very good at telling stories
Me: this is an unfair bargain
Private number: it's a fair deal, too fair a deal if you ask me
Me: you're having fun with this, aren't you ? This is some sort of sick twisted fun game to you isn't it?
I typed angrily
Private number: no
Private number: it's tic for tac
Private number: you tell me a good story and i pardon the fool
