The Serial Bully

Chapter 9~liar liar, pants on fire.

At lunch the next day, cara and i sat down to hash out the rest of our arrangement regarding our outing.

"What time would work best for you?" I asked

"How about 4:30 pm, good enough?" She questioned looking over at me

"Isn't that too early?" I wondered aloud

"Nope, 4:30pm is good" she nodded her head

"I'll text you my address, you're familiar with Wilburn street?"

"Really close to sweet sensation confectionery?" She queried

"Yes, that's the one." I confirmed

"O.m.g. I love that place. They sell the best cupcakes" she squealed

George and Josh who had just set their trays down and sat down with me sandwiched in between them snickered at that

"Junk expert!" George exclaimed shaking his head playfully

"If you ever need any goodies and you have no idea where to get them just meet up with Cara, she'll give you the best recommendations." Josh said staring fixedly at me

"Sugar is life" she inhaled deeply

"Until your teeth rots or you get diabetes" Josh chuckled

"A small price to pay for such an heavenly treat" cara retorted in a feigned breathless voice

Smiles graced each of our lips until the dainty looking girl who had sat beside cara the day before approached our table and sat to the right of cara. George had a wary look on his face while Josh looked slightly irritated. I looked at them puzzled as to why they seemed unhappy about her presence when cara was obviously extremely relaxed.

As soon as she sat down she smiled widely at me as though oblivious to the reactions she was getting and commented " hii olivia, my name's Lily, it's really nice to meet you."

"you're very pretty." She commented excitedly

"Thank you, it's nice to meet you too" I smiled politely not knowing exactly what opinion to form on her.

"What a fucking phoney" George mumbled lowly taking a huge bite of his sandwich.

"You know my first thought when I sighted you?" She didn't pause for my reply before continuing

"It was a song actually, there's a cover of a song, Chloe and Halle sang. It goes thus" she cleared her throat

"If you can see it from the front wait till you see it from the back, wait till you see it from the back, wait till you see it from the baaaaack" she sang drawing out the last line in a very nice alto tone of voice

I laughed gently and commended" you have a really nice voice"

"And you have a really nice ass" George said looking towards me and whistling

"It's true though" Josh said smiling at me

"I have absolutely no idea how to reply to that" I said honestly

Immediately lily dived into stories about certain experiences she'd had during the last vacation. I got the vague feeling she was exaggerating certain parts of the story but I decided not to think much of it since cara was smiling at her and even asking her questions.

Apparently Josh had no such thought as he rolled his eyes and said in a matter of fact tone " we aren't fools we know you're lying, besides it's too early for this bullshit, girl. Even if you're going to tell lies at least put in effort to show that you respect the fact that we're people with a fully functioning brain."
