"What have I told you about lying?" Cole demanded effectively startling me into silence

On getting no reply he repeated the question, this time with a bit more vehemence "Olivia, what exactly have I told you about telling lies?"

"To not do it" I muttered slightly nervous

He leaned closer to me, curiosity evident on his face as a smile I was skeptical of pranced on his lips "why did you do it then?"

"Because you might hurt someone I care about" I fiddled with my thumb resisting the urge to bite my nails

"Only naughty girls tell lies and do you know what naughty girls get?" He asked with a cryptic smile

"No presents?" I suggested hopefully

"Wrong, punishment." He chuckled

"I'll scream bloody murder." I warned, he didn't seem fazed by this as he advanced towards me grinning mischievously.

I had just opened my mouth to let out a scream when I felt his arm wrap around my middle and the next thing he did pilfered the breath from lungs instantaneously.

His fingers lightly scaled my waist and stomach area in swift tickling motions. I arrived to break away from his grip but my attempts proved ineffectual.

As the seconds ticked by torturously slow, tears began to stream down my face due to the excessive amount of laughter heaving from me. I was ready and absolutely willing to give in, anything to make the strong sensations running through my system stop. "Wait, wait, wait."

He paused with a victorious smile "Ready to tell the truth now?"

I nodded my head slightly, I was just glad it was over already. He moved away from me and I scooted to the other side of the seat gasping slightly for air and trying to regain my breath. It took about two minutes for me to regain my previous composure.

I looked at him to find his gaze on me "You have to make a promise first."

"Which is?" He demanded

"You have to promise you won't hurt the person in question." I responded

"Who's it?" He asked

"You have to promise first before I reveal any identity." I insisted

"Fine, I ppromise I won't hurt whoever it is." he smiled solemnly.

I eyed him sharply that was easier than I thought "for real?"

"Yes, for real." He answered, no hint of amusement or foul play in his voice.

I heaved in a deep breath before I began "Lily suspected you of foul play, apparently Mrs. Johnson tried to warn her to be wary of you. I convinced her though that you had nothing to do with it and she believed."

He flipped the textbook back to the page we had been studying, an expression I couldn't gauge reflected on his face "so what's the answer to the calculation?"

"Huh." I was baffled by his reaction or should I say lack of a reaction.

"What's the answer to the calculation you went in to get your phone for?" He repeated

"That's it, that's all you have to say?" I asked nonplussed

"You want me to kick up a fuss?" He perused

"No, your reaction is just really unexpected, I'm still in disbelief." I admitted

"Lily isn't a threat to me, never has been and will probably never be." Cole retorted, i had no suitable response to that so I continued to stare at him dumbfounded.
