Case 2. Killer VS Killer: Chapter 15. Cooperation

After Zhan Zhao spoke, he asked, "Do you all understand? Isn't it interesting?" He stared at everyone excitedly, hoping that someone had understood. However...

He saw everyone staring at him with eyes wide open. After staring for about half a minute, everyone's eyes turned towards Bai Yutang, as if waiting for an explanation.

"Ahem..." Bai Yutang coughed, reached out and picked up a piece of paper from the table. Then he said to everyone, "What is this?"

"Paper." Everyone nodded together.

Bai Yutang picked up another piece of paper and placed them together into the shape of a cross. "What's this?"

"A cross..." Zhao Hu answered blankly.

"A cross?" Jiang Ping muttered. "Vampire?"

"Doctor." Bai Chi said. "Hospital."

"Toy blocks." Luo Tian answered.

After asking around, Bai Yutang turned the cross on his hand a little bit, showing an X shape. He then asked, "What about now?"

"X." Zhao Hu continued to answer blankly.

"X-Men." Jiang Ping said. "Wolverine?"

"Multiplication." Bai Chi said. "Math."

"Crossing out." Luo Tian thought for a moment. "To disappear."

Bai Yutang glanced at the crowd, separated the two pieces of paper, threw them back on top of the picture of the wolf's head and asked, "Do you guys still have that cross and X in your mind?"

Everyone nodded. "Yes."

Bai Yutang nodded, pointed to the wolf's head and asked, "What comes to your mind?"

Zhao Hu said, "Wolf."

Jiang Ping said, "Death."

Bai Chi replied, "Scared."

Luo Tian said, "Punishment."

"The way you guys think is very interesting." Zhan Zhao stroked his chin and pondered. "Zhao Hu uses logic and data, while Jiang Ping is more indirect. Bai Chi links to other details, while Luo Tian thinks more outside the box."

Everyone could not help but look at Bai Yutang for an explanation. Bai Yutang pointed to Zhao Hu and said, "Simple-minded." He pointed to Jiang Ping and said, "Naughty." He then pointed to Bai Chi and said, "Cute." Afterwards, he pointed to Luo Tian and said, "Strange."

"Oh..." Ma Han, who was watching this on the side, applauded and said, "How accurate!"

Zhan Zhao stood aside while pouting, glancing sideways at Bai Yutang.

Bai Yutang messed up the strips of paper that had created the picture of the wolf's head and asked, "Can you guys remember what the wolf's head looked like?"

Everyone froze. In front of them were strips of paper stacked together. However, they had to think back and try to recall which strip was the ear and which was the nose.

"Oh!" Bai Chi said in surprise. "I understand now. The strips of paper are messed up to make the wolf's head appear on everyone's minds... They must have seen the wolf's head before. When they were staying in the enclosed space every day, they were staring at the white lines, so the image of the wolf's head became clearer and clearer in their minds. This is more useful than seeing a real wolf's head or a wolf!"

"That's right!" Zhan Zhao nodded again and again. "This is an indirect hint, just like condemning a person face-to-face and or make insinuations!"

As soon as he spoke, he saw that everyone was glaring at him. "Why didn't you say so in the beginning?"
