Case 1. An Innocent Murderer: Chapter 24. Exposing the Enemy By Luring Them Out

During the evening on a small country road, there was a cool breeze. The grass in the fields on both sides had the fragrance of wildflowers and the sound of insects, while the stars sparkled in the sky.

"Cat...Your father is a good cook. No wonder he raised you so well." Carrying Zhan Zhao on his back, Bai Yutang praised as he walked.

"Of course." Zhan Zhao laid on Bai Yutang with a toothpick in his hand and his chin on Bai Yutang's shoulder. He held his chin with one hand and picked his teeth with the other, "Where did you park your car? It's so far away"

"At the foot of the mountain." Bai Yutang said helplessly, "I was scared your father would find out if I parked too close."

"Didn't he still find out?" Zhan Zhao kept poking his teeth with the toothpick, "You might as well have parked closer."

"I'm the one carrying you. I haven't complained yet so why are you complaining?"

"Humph! Too slow."

"Ah! I pocked my gum!"

After fighting and arguing, the two finally got into the car. Bai Yutang started the car, "Cat, where are we going first? Interrogate Pang Ji and his son?"

"Um..." Zhan Zhao rubbed his chin, "It's late now, so we can only go ask the father and son. We can do the other things tomorrow morning."

"Do I take you back here later?" Bai Yutang asked. It would be dawn by the time he brought Zhan Zhao back.

"Who said anything about coming back?!" Zhan Zhao glared at Bai Yutang, "I want to go home."

Bai Yutang beamed with joy as he started the car and drove to the hospital.

Pang Qing and Pang Ji were both seriously injured and were staying in the intensive care unit. Zhan Zhao could not help but sigh. Brother Bai...He really was cruel.

The policeman in charge of guarding Pang Qing and Pang Ji opened the door to let Bai Yutang and Zhan Zhao in. Zhan Zhao refused to let Bai Yutang carry him, instead only asked Bai Yutang to hold onto him.

In the ward, Pang Ji was still wearing a respirator. Pang Qing laid there blankly. He raised his eyes and saw them come in, but said nothing.

Zhan Zhao looked at the two for a while, then asked Pang Qing, "How's your injury?"

Pang Qing sneered, "As if you care."

Bai Yutang said, "Why so rude? Cat really does care!"

Zhan Zhao rolled his eyes at Bai Yutang—You still want to joke around?!

Bai Yutang raised his eyebrows--I was telling the truth!

Zhan Zhao glared at him again, warning him not to talk nonsense. Then, he turned towards Pang Qing and said, "I can understand your feelings of wanting revenge, but it's better to use your brains. Don't be used as a gun by others."

"What?" Pang Qing looked up with confusion in his eyes.

"You know exactly what I mean." Zhan Zhao smiled. "How else do you think Pang Xiaoqin died?"

Pang Qing frowned. He seemed to be thinking of something, then the color on his face changed.

Zhan Zhao nodded to Bai Yutang with satisfaction, "Let's go."

Bai Yutang was a little surprised, as he raised his eyebrows at Zhan Zhao as if to ask--You're done with the questions?

Zhan Zhao smiled--I'm done!

Bai Yutang frowned--What was the point of that?

Zhan Zhao smiled mysteriously--I'm not telling you!

Bai Yutang was helpless as he helped Zhan Zhao out of the ward and back to the car. Bai Yutang asked, "Cat, what are you plotting?"

Zhan Zhao smiled mysteriously and asked, "Xiao Bai, do you have a listening device in your car?"

"Huh?" Bai Yutang was surprised and smiled, "Cat, why do you want such a shameful thing for?"

"Go and find one!" Zhan Zhao smiled, "I need it."

Bai Yutang sighed and called Jiang Ping. Sure enough, she had one. They went to the police station to get it. After they picked it up, Bai Yutang asked Zhan Zhao, "Where are you going to use it?"
