Selena fluttered her eyes open with a moan, she stared at the ceiling for a while trying to recall what happened exactly, why she was feeling so dreadfully exhausted, the memories sank in slowly making her sit up, right away
"Mom!" Kaine breathed out in relief before rushing towards her and she frowned deeply looking around, he wrapped his arms around her tightly and she hugged him back in confusion
"How long I've been out?" She questioned slowly as they torn apart and he hesitated at first "Kaine what's going on?"
"Three days, you've been unconscious for three days" he revealed warily, suddenly she felt some type of hunger she hadn't felt since, she first turned
Slowly, she noticed the dark veins in her hands going up to her arm, she gasped loudly freezing. Kaine closed his eyes briefly taking a deep breath before helping her out of the bed, he hated to see his mother like this. Helpless
"Where's your sisters?" She asked trying to keep her tone calm but he knew better
"Downstairs with everyone" he replied with a small smile
"Where's your father?" She questioned with knitted eyebrows knowing there was no way in hell he'd leave her while she was weak and unconscious
"Out, he asked me to keep an eye on you until he returns. It's not like I wouldn't have if he didn't ask but-" he began and she smiled at him placing a hand on his shoulder
"I know, peanut" she cut him off before glancing at the dark veins "I love you more than anything, I promise"
"I'm so sorry, mom. I'm so fucking sorry about what I said the other day... if- if anything had happened to you- or" he stammered as tears began to gather in his guilty and haunted eyes
