Avery Rain Santillan

It was already dinner time when Kyron and I decided to visit mommy and daddy at the main farmhouse. Sila lang ang nag-iistay sa main farmhouse kaya nagdadalawang isip ako. Actually nga, naisip kong baka nagho-honeymoon sila at balak pa kaming dagdagan.

Pagpasok namin sa main farmhouse, I was surprised to see the two of them enjoying their coffees on the living room like they were expecting us to come.

"Take a seat Kyron, Avery." Daddy offered. "Do you want some coffee?"

"No thanks Sir." Kyron respectfully declined.

"Me dad, I want. My usual coffee mix." Daddy winked at me telling me that he knows what my favorite mix of coffee is.

Nakita ni mommy yung gesture ni daddy na yun. "Coffee lovers."

If there is one thing me and daddy loves the most, it is coffees. Our love for coffees is undeniable! Magkasundo kami ni daddy pagdating sa coffee flavors and everything coffees. Ang dami nga naming coffee beans sa mansyon at minsan, si daddy ang nagiging barista ko and he makes me delicious coffees every morning.

"It surprised me that you went here today. Akala ko bukas pa kayo pupunta at i-eenjoy niyo muna yung triplets."

"Amber was practicing with our sons. Lahat ng dapat naming gawin ni Kyron, sila ni Niccolo ang gumagawa. It's like they're preparing for their future."

Mommy chuckled. "Make sure not to tell your dad those things. For sure, kawawa si Niccolo."

Nagkatawanan kaming lahat. Mom was asking if how we are adjusting with the situation. Frankly speaking, none of us are adjusting. Hindi pa kasi nagsisink in sa amin ang lahat. Maybe we could start the process of adjusting once we've heard the whole story of how the triplets survived.

Mom waited until dad came back with our coffees. Mas gusto daw kasi niyang magkwento nang nandoon si daddy.

"Ready to hear this?" Daddy asked when he settled himself in his seat beside mommy.

Nagkatinginan kami ni Kyron saka sabay na tumango. It's now or never.

A YEAR AGO...

It's almost three o'clock in the morning when Andrew's phone rang. Napalingon si Andrew kay Athena na mahimbing pa rin ang pagkakatulog. He lazily answered his phone.

"Hello,"

"Sir, this James Esteban."

Napakunot ang noo niya nang malaman kung sino ang tumawag. James Esteban was the secret agent he hired to eye Kyron and Avery while her daughter is living with him. He wants to know what is happening to the two of them while they're living together. He just couldn't let himself do nothing especially when he saw the sadness in his daughter's eyes whenever she's visiting them.

"What is it James? May nangyari bang hindi maganda?"

"Sir, Ms. Avery is in St. Claire's hospital right now. She was hit by a car."

Napabangon si Andrew nang marinig ang ibinalita ng secret agent. "WHAT?! BAKIT NASAGASAAN ANG ANAK KO? WHAT HAPPENED?"

Nabulabog ang tulog ni Athena ng marinig ang malakas na sigaw ng asawa. "Why? What happened? Why are you shouting?"
