CHAPTER 28:THE NEW BRIDE

AMEERA'S POV

THE KNOT HAd BEEN TIED.

That was the word my mom said as she came into the room and sat beside me. I started to cry on her shoulder , I can't believe I went through with the plans.

I'm now a married woman, I can't believe this.

Oh Allah, have I just signed my own death? Please guide me through all this. I don't know that I'd feel this terrible, I have never thought of myself ,before going through with the plans. Now I'm starting to have doubt.

What if my husband is a psychopath or maybe a drug addict.... I thought but quickly shake my head in a God forbid way. I just pray he is someone I can tolerate.

I can't believe that I still don't know who this husband of mine his. When I met his mother this morning, she was so beautiful and kind hearted. I couldn't even look her in the eyes, I was so ashamed of what Aisha and I did.

What if they later come to know that we both plan for this to happen...... I thought.

Please forgive me ya Allah, I've sinned against you, please forgive this servant of yours......i prayed.

Mama kept rubbing my back as I kept having this thoughts,how will I face mama when she comes to know that all this was a plan. Mama wasn't really happy about this turn of event,she and baba where against it but I tried all possible way and convinced them. Still yet they weren't happy that their only daughter decided to marry in this way.

" my child, now that you're a married woman please take care of your home. Always stand by your husband, don't disrespect him even if he is at fault" she continued preaching to me on how I should behave as a married woman. The only answer she got from me was my quiet sob.

After the little speech, mama left and I was alone. She told me that I would be taken to my husband house later in the evening and I still can't come to terms that I'm married.

I'm now someone else amana ..... I'm doomed.

I just pray that, the cause of doing this isn't in vain. I pray that Aisha would find the happiness she seek in my brother. The plan was that....

" Do you remember your father's lost relations you told me about, the one living in Abuja" I asked Aisha and she nodded her head at me.

" Do you still have her number" she nodded. The lady we were talking about was the junior sister of Aisha's father. She too has been in this kind of situation before ,she was to marry a man betrothed to her by her father and then she already had someone who she love dearly. That person she love is Alhaji Dani's friend . This brought a rift between two best friends, Aisha's father never agreed to the marriage but Aisha's grandfather was a kind man so he allows her to marry the friend . But Aisha father had been against the marriage ,even till now, the two friend are not on speaking terms.

Alhaji Dabo never asked of his sister not even his friend for the past fifteen years. I can't believe that Aisha father can be so strong headed.

The only time they meet is when there is a family gathering, like when there is a wedding or naming ceremony. Aisha aunt is already used to this behavior, she always try her best to patch things up with her brother but he never give her a listening ear.

You might be wondering how I knew all this, well Aisha told me all about it.

" OK, you'd give her a call and tell her that you're coming to spend sometime with her. " I said. Her aunt wasn't invited to the wedding ,she was afraid that If she comes here uninvited, her brother might drive her out of the house like a dog. Which was why she decided not to come.
