"This is the IMG reporting," the message began. Good. He is already reporting back.

The admiral listened attentively as the message played further, "A terraformed human planet, listed as 78PF was mysteriously attacked yesterday. We would see to the attackers ourselves but the rebuilding that needs to be done and the rescuing of civilians is at your department. We request immediate response from your part as the inhabitants of that planet are likewise in a terrified state. That's all admiral. We are currently travelling to the most probable location of the attackers and would report back once something major has been encountered. Over and Out."

The admiral stood up and sipped his dark energy drink. The Galactic Patrol had exclusive power to create wormholes and they were the only ones who could help or deal with faraway places. The main reason being exploitation and the cost. They had sufficient branches and fame to make enough wormholes to provide help to those who required it.

He spoke to the officers about the report from the IMG and boarded the pod. It was to travel to the planet where the wormhole generator was situated. It was a dwarf planet and the generator covered almost one-third of the surface area of it.

He made multiple calls to the technicians and gathered a large enough team to be able to rescue the civilians in time. The generator came to life and space-time warped like a sphere above it. Then, the generator grunted to a stop, giving a bubble like entry point which directly connected 78PF to that planet.

The wormhole is a 4D puncture in our 3D space and as it is a puncture, it bends the space-time fabric around it

The wormhole is a 4D puncture in our 3D space and as it is a puncture, it bends the space-time fabric around it. So, if by chance anybody got outside the 'bubble' while traveling through it, it would mean that they will be in a place with four or more spacial dimensions. The Galactic Patrol had properly trained personnel to avoid anything of that sort.

He saw their patrol ship ascend to the wormhole and then disappear into it. The ship reappeared on the other side instantaneously, ready to perform its duty. It was evening on the planet which had a startlingly similar look to Earth. But sadly, it had streaks of smoke and ash coming out of multiple sites.

As the numerous pods detached from the underside of their ship, they saw that the 'streaks' of smoke they had referred to earlier were mountain-sized fumes. A devastating scenario bared infront of them as the clouds cleared.

They used gigantic robots to lift up the toppled-over buildings and rescue the ones who were trapped within them. But at first, drones were sent to spot the survivors. They moved them one by one to the numerous medical bays they had just set up throughout the planet and waited for the robots to finish their job.

The underground basements were evacuated shortly after and the cries for help and pain in their voices shivered the patrolmen's spines. The pain-stricken humans were taken to their ship; it was a shelter for them for as long as it would take to repair and rebuild their home. The animals were locked in cages on small ships nearby.

They also collected the dead bodies of the humans wherever they were spotted, to be given proper burial, once all this was over.

The admiral got short reports back periodically and the galactic news was blasting with their name. He smiled widely in satisfaction. If all this would go in the same way for even a few years, he would be the most lavish man in the galaxy.

He sunk in his massage pool deeper at the thought. The liquid stiffened at his joints and relaxed his muscles. Life couldn't get any better for him. But still there was a work left to do. He had to reward the IMG. His expense of rebuilding Remanisis had been long covered by donations from across the galaxy. He had enough to give them to carry on with their journey. Let's wait a little longer and see what they find, who the attackers are and after that, I would pay them up. He closed his eyes at the thought and let his subconscious mind play.

__________

Sir Sanduo jumped in glee at the thought of his first payment. They could do so many things now. A new robot squad, massive modifications to their ship and so much more! But first they had to meet the Gods. They had to console 'them'. He got goosebumps at the thought.

Sharlotte spoke with the robots about her world and they paid attention

Sharlotte spoke with the robots about her world and they paid attention. She felt nice knowing that some people actually did believe in her. That some people were there to help her. She smiled internally. But I can't let them know right away. They won't comply if I do. She felt uneasy again but then brushed off the fact and continued her chat with the robots. When time comes they would know eventually. And when that time does come, they won't be able to back out.
