The sun is shining brightly; birds were chirping– okay let's cut the crap.

"And, you two are back together now?" mom carefully confirms, looking at me from across the dining table.

"Yeah."

"He's gonna cheat again, Bea!" dad exclaims.

"Honey, Mason is a good guy," mom tells her husband.

"I hate Mason!" Josh huffs as he crosses his arms. "He always ignores me!"

"Now, Josh," mom scolds. "Be nice."

"But, he's very bad!" Josh exclaims, throwing his hands up.

"I don't like this Mason character," dad crosses his arms as he eyes me.

"But, he's so nice! He even visited you in the hospital," I explain.

"What?" mom asks me, squinting her eyes.

"Did he, though?" dad asks mom.

Mom looks up the ceiling, trying to recall the events that has happened yesterday.

She gives a confused look to the two of us, "No, he hasn't."

"But..." I drawl. "Huh?"

"No, Mason hasn't visited yesterday," mom shrugs. "What are you talking about?"

I gape at her in disbelief, "But, I saw him at the hospital yesterday!"

"That's odd," mom murmurs. "Maybe I was at the bathroom when he visited?"

"Then, if ever you were at the bathroom, I should've seen him," dad explains.

"Maybe you were asleep, honey," she tells him. "You were unconscious most of the time, yesterday."

He purses his lips, then lets out a big cough, "I don't trust him."

"Mason wasn't in the hospital," Josh says.

"Huh?" I look at all of them, my mouth hanging wide. "I swear! He was in the hospital."

"Maybe he was visiting someone else, honey," mom tells me.

"No, he said he visited dad," I explain.

"He's a liar, then," dad calls out.

"Sweetie, Mason is a charming, young man who would never lie," mom tells him.

"He's cheated on Bea with her best friend, Alice," he looks at my mom dead in the eyes.

"He was intoxicated, honey," mom tries to defend Mason. "Our daughter has learned to forgive him, so we, as parents, should, too."
