Chapter 27: The End of nothing

"IS THAT all you've got?"

I gritted my teeth in annoyance but didn't let it go through my head. Hindi ko inalis ang tingin kay Henry at maingat na binantayan ang mga kilos niya.

One wrong move from him, I easily took the ball out from his hand and hurriedly passed it to Ben. I saw how Henry put a quick scowl from his face before running after Ben to get the ball back.

"Nice shot, Ben!" natutuwang sigaw ni coach nang makapuntos si Ben ng tres.

The team was divided into two, my team and Henry's team were supposed to fight with each other. Whoever team wins get the starting line up for the next game.

"Don't celebrate yet, suckers. Nakatsamba ka lang," pasaring ni Orlie na pasimpleng binangga ang balikat ko.

I smirked at him and shrugged my shoulders while mocking him, "Yeah, sorry about that. My hand actually slipped."

Nang makita kong napayukom ang kamao niya ay lihim akong napangiti. Sino kaya ang napikon sa ating dalawa ngayon?

Nang marinig ko ang pagpito ni coach kasabay ng paghagis niya ng bola sa akin ay mabilis ko itong ipinasa kay Drake. Agad siyang hinarang ni Henry at Orlie kaya madali akong nakalusot sa gilid nang walang nakabantay. Nang mapansin iyon ni Drake ay ipinasa niya sa akin ang bola kung kaya't nakapuntos kaming muli.

"Oops, your hand slipped again, Cap," nang-aasar na saad ni Drake nang mapadaan sa tabi ni Orlie na halos umusok na ang ilong sa sobrang inis.

Coach blew the whistle so we all quickly gathered to the bench.

"I guess some of us is already prepared and ready for the next game! Some of you still need to improve with a little bit of practice but we'll get there eventually. Fifteen minutes break, boys!"

Nang isigaw ni coach ang huli ay nagsialisan sa bench ang mga kasama ko pero nanatili pa rin si Henry nang makita niyang nakaupo pa rin ako. Tumayo siya sa harap ko kaya napatayo na rin ako para harapin siya.

"You got something to say?" mahinahong tanong ko.

"I just don't get what she sees in you. Of all people, you're just an oddball who craves for everybody's attention and then throw them out after getting what you want from them."

The h*ck is this guy talking about?!

Mahina akong napatawa habang humahakbang palapit sa kanya. Hindi siya natinag at nanatiling nakatayo habang hindi inaalis ang tingin sa mukha ko.

"Am I a threat to you that much? Ano bang ikinatatakot mo? You already have her with you but you're thinking she still might wanna be with me, is that it?"

The smug on his face vanished together as his hands drew into a fist.

"Tama na 'yan, guys. 'Wag nga kayong mag-away dito!" saway ni Enzo na lumapit na sa aming dalawa para awatin kami.

"Why would I? I think if there's someone who should be threatened, that would be you and not me," sagot ni Henry sa akin.

Nawala ang pilit na ngiti sa mukha ko at napalitan ito ng pagkunot ng noo. The smug on his face came back as if telling me he has something rolling up on his sleeves.

"I mean... You know I get to kiss her last night and it's going places. Not until you showed up and stopped that from happening because of your petty jealousy act." He smirked and laughed which fired up something within me.
