We exited Miss Akira's building, our stomach fuller, our minds richer, and our hearts lighter. Lex had truly outdone himself with this, and I couldn't wait to show him exactly how much I loved him for it.

Not only had we spent some incredible time together, learning more about each other, but we also had learned how to cook some delicious dishes, the recipes already waiting for me in my inbox, thanks to Miss Akira's efficiency.

Instead of going toward the car as I'd expected, Lex guided us the opposite way, holding me close against him as I had an arm around him. As we passed in front of The Hourglass, I glimpsed at the interior, glad that we hadn't spent our evening in this rigid, snobbish, and haughty place.

"Is our next destination a secret, too?" I tried, looking up at Lex.

"Yes. We'll be there in five minutes, so no need to try to pry it out of me, Walker."

Deciding to obey for once, I gave up on questioning him, trusting him. "The evening has really been incredible, so far. Thank you, Lex," I said instead.

His arm around me held me a little tighter, pressing me against his strong shape. "I've been wanting to take you out on a date for so long, I had to make sure it would be perfect."

"And it was. It really was."

We stopped walking just long enough to exchange a loving kiss and then resumed our journey to the unknown. We arrived on a larger street, and I recognized the area. It was very lively, with many activities, shops and restaurants. As I'd done before, I kept my eyes forward, trying to guess, and I recognized a name, in large, luminous yellow letters, a hundred yards ahead of us.

An excited tremor ran through me. "Are you taking me to an arcade?!"

Shaking his head, he chuckled low. "Yes, I am."

"Oh, my God! I haven't been in one in ages! I used to go all the time with my dad."

"I remember, yes. That's why I thought you'd enjoy it."

I stopped walking, realizing how much he paid attention to me. I barely remembered telling him about this, and yet he did. He actually listened to me, and more than that, he remembered it. He remembered everything, from the anecdote of my dad taking me to the arcade to celebrate good grades, to me wanting to learn how to cook Korean.

He was a genius, after all, so I shouldn't be surprised.

"Do you remember every conversation we've ever had?" I wondered, squinting my eyes at him.

"I have what was qualified as 'prodigious memory.' I can remember with accuracy a great number of things, even more so when the subject interests me," he explained with a shrug, as if it was nothing.

"Lex, that's amazing! Oh, God... I need to be careful with what I say around you. You'll remember it forever and hold it against me."

"I doubt you'll be able to hold that witty tongue of yours. Come on, let's go," he insisted, pushing me toward the building.
