aidan

he comes to, shivering from the lack of a warm body next to him. preston strolls in through true door at the same moment with a brown paper bag from the grey dog.

"good morning, sunshine," he grins cheekily, adding in a wink as he sets it down on the nightstand. "i got us pancakes. one order with bananas, one with chocolate chips, both with sides of bacon."

"sleep well?" preston says, mouth full and face more serious. "you totally passed out last night. haven't been sleeping well?"

"everett and i broke up. for good," he states, shrugging. "i'm moving on, but it's still fucking hard, and i have trouble when it comes to going to bed."

"i'm sorry. i know how you feel, but it's going to be okay. has anyone told you that yet?" preston asks, squeezing his forearm.

"no, but thanks."

the two eat their breakfast, finally catching up on everything that's happened, and aidan couldn't be more grateful for his friend.
