A mob of greys dump the scroll to the floor then grab me by the arms. They pick me up and slam me to the table as I struggle to keep a hold of Excalibur. "I was just curious about the probing! I didn't want a demonstration!" I squeak. The little guys are strong. I can't move a muscle.
"Amihan! Why are you doing this?" Eve cries to the ceiling.
A bright light blinds me. My body starts to burn from head to toe. I scream out in pain, but the sensation is soon over. The light fades and I sit up in a panic, realizing Excalibur is gone. I look down at my body, expecting to see blood gushing from my multitude of wounds. "Impossible!" I gasp. Every contusion, laceration and puncture mark has disappeared, along with the sword.
The aliens let go of Eve. She holds her hands over her mouth as she stares at me.
"What happened?" I ask, scooting off the table.
"Amihan must have drained what magick was left in Excalibur and used it to heal your body. The sword merged with you."
"Better than a probing?" asks one of the greys. His voice is high pitched but distressingly human.
"Probably," I say, "thank you."
