"Okay so I was thinking we could go to target and look around there for a little bit." Devyn said as she started the car, "that sounds fun, maybe we can get some more nasty groceries for Cora." Kat said and scrunched her nose at me, "I hate you." I giggled as she stuck her tongue out at me, "ugh I need to get my nails done, they look horrible." Tara said and examined her hands. I looked at my own hands and realized how chipped my polish was, I could probably use a touch up also. I shrugged as Devyn drove down the road. I clutched the sleeves of my sweater nervously and looked out the window. Tara and Devyn were taking up front and Kat was scrolling through Twitter. The music was low, which made me assume that Colby talked to Devyn about how to make me more comfortable. He was too damn sweet.

"You okay?" Kat asked as I nervously bit at my lip, "yeah, I'm okay. It's just taking a long time to get used to being in a car." She nodded and smiled slightly before taking my hand and unbundling the sweater from my fist, "I understand, but you'll be okay, we are gonna get through this together." She said with a smile and held my hand.

We pulled into the parking lot and made our way through the aisles. I know this wasn't the most exciting night out, but being with the girls was enough for us to have a good time. At one point Tara was in the cart and we were pushing her around. We stopped in the baby section and bought some stuff of course because everyone was getting antsy about the baby coming.

"There's a nail place next door can we PLEASE get our nails done?" Tara asked with a pouted lip, "I'm down, what do you guys think?" Devyn said and looked at Kat and I, "let's go! And you can't argue Cora, I bet you can't tell me the last time you treated yourself to something." Kat said and pointed her finger at me with authority. "Alright yeah, you're right. Okay! Let's go," I said and linked my arms through Devyn and Tara's.

When we got there I decided I was going to get a gel manicure, since Kat was right, I haven't treated myself in such a long time. I decided on a pale yellow nail to match the yellow sweater I was wearing, "oh my gosh that color is so pretty Cora!" Kat squeeled happily as she got her nails done. I smiled, taking in this moment. I didn't know how many more nights like this would exist after the baby was born. I'm sure Colby and I would be able to have date nights and times with our friends but it wouldn't be nearly as often. We did live with them though, so I tried not to get too sad about it.

"Where are we going next?" I asked as Devyn drove, she didn't answer causing me to scrunch my nose in confusion. We drove for a couple more minutes before we parked in a parking lot. I knew exactly where we were, but why were we here? "Dev why are we here?" I asked but she ignored me again.

I jumped when I heard someone tapping on my window, "Sam?" I asked as he opened my door and held his hand out to help me out of the car, "Don't ask questions." He said and handed me a paper. I unfolded it slowly and looked at him with confusion.

Go walk down the beach, I'll see you soon. - C

I smiled but cocked my head to the side, I opened my mouth to ask Sam what this was about but he just shook his head, "no questions." He said and turned me towards the beach. I slowly made my way down the sand until I saw someone standing there, with candles and flower petals scattered around them, I smiled when Colby looked up to see me.

"Hey beautiful girl." He said and held his hands out to me. "Hey." I breathed out and took them. "What is this about?" I asked with a smirk. He smiled and shook his head, ignoring my question,

"Cora, you know I love you right?" He asked and I smiled softly, "yeah, I do." I said as he rubbed my hands with his thumbs, "do you know when I realized that?" He asked and I shook my head, "right here. On this beach." He said and pulled me a little closer. He took a deep breath,

"Cora, you have made me the happiest guy in the world. Since the moment I met you, I knew you were so special. Since the night of that party you have changed my life. You have brought out the best in me, and I truly can't thank you enough." He took another deep breath and continued, "I've been thinking a lot these past couple weeks about how much I love you and how much you mean to me." He swallowed hard, fighting back tears, "When you got into the accident I felt my whole world crumble. I didn't want to live in a world where you weren't right beside me. It made me realize that you are so much more to me than the love of my life, you're my lifeline. You're the sun that shines on my cloudy days." He said as my eyes filled with tears.

"You're so special, and unique. I love you so much." He said and brought his hand to my face, wiping the tears that were falling. "We have been through so much and we have so much that we are going to go through and I never want you to go through it alone, baby girl. I want to be by your side through all of the good and all of the bad, but only if you'll let me," I sniffled and nodded as he kissed my hands, "I love you so much and I have been meaning to ask you..." He said then dropped down onto one knee causing my heart to race and my jaw to drop.

"Cora Elizabeth Williams, will you marry me?"
