Camilo's POV

I felt a hand press on my back. I looked up to see Papa, he looked down at me with a sad expression, a hurt expression.

I couldn't help it, my body felt heavy, I fell on the floor on my knees, tears flowing down on my face as I stared down at my hands, gripping the necklace she had thrown.

"Oh Camilo..." Pepa whispered, she was crying, everyone was crying. Dolores was sobbing and weeping.

I didn't know what to feel at that moment. I felt...empty. I knew everyone felt guilty, I could see it in their eyes. They loved Anita, I know they did, that night of the proposal was an accident, still, they were mad.

They barely talked to her after that and now...she was gone. She was gone and no one even got to say goodbye to her and she had sacrificed herself for Mirabel, for that stupid fucking candle.

Julieta ran inside first, aiding Mirabel as she removed the door and a few pieces of furniture to open the tent. Hugging Mirabel as she cried, even Abuela Alma cried and she never cried.

I felt stupid. I could have done so much more, she deserved so much more. I slowly got up, Dolores grabbed my wrist but I ignored her.

I walked over to where I had seen her last, Mirabel looked at me, her eyes red and her glasses fogged and cracked slightly.

I looked down and then to the side when a figure shadowed over me. Luisa.

She smiled at me, a warm smile as she bent down and used all of her strength to move the brick piece out of the way, even without her power she was still strong, still special.

"Que?" I questioned in a whisper, where the fuck was she. I swear she was right here, I looked around frantically, trying to find her, as did everyone else.

I heard a quiet groan come from the corner, "Over here." I walked over quickly, squinting my eyes. I saw... a leopard?

Antonio's leopard.

Anita's POV 🔆

I was surprised when I was swept off my feet by something and whisked away by...a leopard. I knew it was Antonio's, thank goodness for that kid, he literally saved my life.

I felt a bit sick and lightheaded from all the smoke and dust that I had inhaled from the cramped house. Blinking slowly, I heard soft cried and tried to move slowly from underneath the leopard but it wouldn't budge, especially since I couldn't properly move it as my hand was burnt and hurt like hell so it just stared at me.

I groaned, the big animal weighing me down

"Over here..." I tried to yell but it came out as more of a raspy whisper, still I knew someone heard when I heard footsteps come closer.

I felt the leopard get up and it walked away.

Camilo.

"Oh my fuck." he whispered coming closer to me and hugging me. I wrapped my arms around him, nuzzling my head in his neck and listening to his quiet breaths. "You idiot..." I nodded my head, he wasn't wrong.
