The two elder sisters started opening the packets carefully.

"This is macadamia nuts. It's the highest quality. Mom bought it for chachan." Elder sister Anita explained.

"Maybe we can eat one each and seal it again," Anuchi suggested.

I knew we were going to be in trouble. Sometimes, I forget that they are just 8-year-olds. If all their plans were successful, the world might have ended by now.

But I didn't protest. Because we got a share too.

Well... To be honest, we got more than what they ate. After all, they were elder sisters who loved us a lot. So they unknowingly fed us a lot.

They opened packets one after another.

There were chocolates, nuts, candies and even things I have never seen in my both lives combined.

"This is what appa got for Achu." Elder sister Anita showed me a large packet.

"What is it?"

"That's a secret. You will know it tomorrow." She didn't let me open the packet. She wanted to keep it a surprise.

We checked many packets. There were gifts for everyone. They were very thoughtful in picking gifts.

Elder sister Anita took out another packet and started sniffing it.

"Are you sure that is for eating?" I asked nervously.

"Of course it is. It has almonds." Elder sister Anita showed me the label of the bottle she was holding.

"It's a shampoo with almond milk." I pointed out the mistake. We were already breaking many rules. The last thing I wanted was for them to drink shampoo and have diarrhoea with bubbles.

"Hmm... Will it taste like almond?" Elder sister Anita asked.

"Only one way to know," Anuchi answered.

"No! It won't. Just put it back." I realised how our parents would have felt while watching over us.

Anuchi is a cunning and intelligent girl. But when she is with the friends she loves, her intelligence would take a hit. She would ignore consequences and start acting however she wants.

"What are you two worms doing?" An annoyed voice filled the room.

"Eeekkk..." the two girls jumped up frightened.

"I have been rolling on the bed for the past one hour because of you two. Can't you just go and sleep?"Chachan scolded the girls.

"We... we were making sure that everything was alright," Anuchi answered.

"Really? Are you saying that weren't about to drink shampoo?"

"That was a science experiment."

"What kind of science experiment needs you to drink shampoo?"

"That..."

"Go and sleep. There will be punishment for both of you in the morning."

"We are not alone. Those two are also with us." Elder sister Anita pointed at us. She didn't hesitate even a second to betray us.

"Who?" Chachan asked while looking at where she pointed.

"Huh? Achu and Aloshi. They were here a moment ago." Anuchi answered baffled.

I saw chachan coming. So I silently dragged Aloshi and escaped. I know that our sisters love us a lot. We love them a lot too. But there was no need to share the punishment with them.

"Don't lie."

"They were here. I think they ran away when chachan came. Come with me, I can prove it." The girls dragged chachan to the room where we were sleeping.

When they reached our room, what they saw was a bunch of kids sleeping peacefully.

"Now what?" Chachan asked.

"This is fake. They are not really sleeping. They are pretending to sleep. I will wake them up right now." Anuchi decided to handle us backstabbers physically.

I was worried that Aloshi would expose us. Fortunately, he was used to handling his older sister. He continued pretending to sleep and didn't move an inch.

"Don't disturb the sleeping kids. Do you want o get punished?" Chachan stopped Anuchi who was about to kick us.

"I am telling you. They are not sleeping. We all know that the leg of sleeping kids swing. See... their legs are not moving. So they are not sleeping." Anita said loud enough for us to hear.

As if I would fall for such a silly trick! I am an adult with 39 years of experience. Such tricks are useless in front of me. I felt pity for the kids.

But I froze before I could finish my thoughts.

Because I sensed a movement next to me.

Aloshi was swinging his leg sideways on the bed to show that he was sleeping!

I wanted to kick him. He exposed us!

I could hear the two girls and chachan giggling.

What am I doing?

I suddenly realized what the difference between me and Aloshi was. He was a dumb little innocent brother everyone wanted while I was the intelligent troublesome boy. In every way, he was a better brother than me.

The next moment, I started swinging my legs too.  It wasn't easy to do it while lying on the bed.

The giggling intensified.

Then they left the room without exposing us.

I could hear them packing everything. They had to get rid of the evidence before the adults woke up.

Chachan said that they would be punished. But with chachan's nature, he won't tell anyone. Also, I am pretty sure that most of the adults would have already noticed the commotion and decided to ignore it.

The elder sisters returned and soon I fell asleep.
