chapter 4

"Why don't you go play with the other kids here while me and your brother have a talk?" Castle says smiling.

I nod unsure. I look at Aaron, but he looks annoyed, so I follow Kenji to a room where all the other kids are.

"okay everyone, this is Elena, please welcome her like all the other new kids." He says out loud.

"um kenji-" I try to say, but he already has a lot to do and is stressed enough to not let me finish my sentence.

"don't worry kiddo, you will be fine, ok?" He says as he try to let go of my hand.

The truth is that I'm actually afraid to be left alone with these kids, I have never made any friends before.

"Elena, you need to let go, you'll be fine!" Kenji chuckles. I let go.

"don't worry." He says, "I'm leaving now, but I will be back later! k?" He says as he squeezes my shoulder.

I nod, "okay, you can leave now." I tell him as I turn to the other kids, but as fast as Kenji leaves everyone turns to do the things they did before.

I walk over to this group of girls. "hello!" I say smiling at them.

They just give me a dirty look. Weird.

"my name is Elena! what's your name?" I ask trying my best to start a conversation, but it don't seem to be working very well.

"listen here, we don't care. we don't want to play with you, you are that psychos sister." She says as she looks away again.

"oh"
"wait are you talking about Aaron?"

"Warner, yes." She says.

"listen here whatever your name is, my brother is not a psycho, and even if he was, why would you think I was??" I ask her clearly irritated with her words.

She doesn't answer. "I'm talking to you!" I say as I try to get her attention, but it seems like I've gained all the others instead.

"ok then.." I say as I go to sit in the corner where I see some paper and some crayons.

"hello!" I hear a voice say from in front of me. I look up to see this blonde boy talking to me.
"oh hi!" I answer with a small smile.

"I'm sorry Alice was mean to you, that was unnecessary." He says looking at her.

"I don't really like these kids ether, and I wasn't really allowed to talk to you, but you seem nice so why not!" He says smiling.

"wait, why weren't you allowed to talk to me? And who said that?" I ask him curious.

"oh um..I don't know if I can tell.. but I don't care what my brother says anyway, or I do, but—"

"So it was your brother who made that rule?"

"oh, uh yea, but Adam is great—"

"Adam?!" I whisper yell. Did Adam really tell him he wasn't allowed near me.

"I should stop talking" he says, and I can't help but laugh.

"Want to come to my room, it's boring here.." he asks me with bright eyes.

"okay! But will we get in trouble?" I ask.

"I don't know.?"

"Okay come on!" I say as we sneak our way to his room.

"Me, kenji and Adam sleeps here!" He says as we enter the room.

"Kenji sleeps here too?"

"Yes! You know him?"

"Of course! I've known him for ages!" I chuckle as I sit on one of the beds, he does the same.

'Kenjis pov'

After talking to Castle I decided to go check on Elena. I see the other children hanging out with each other, but I can't see Elena anywhere.

"Alice! is Elena here?" I ask.

"No, I think she went with James." She says looking like she couldn't care less.
"Alright, thank you" I say and decide to go check our room, it's not the first time James hides there.

I can hear laughing, when I get closer to our room I can tell it's coming from there.
I knock on the door and all I hear is;

"Get under the bed!! quick!"

I can't help but laugh. As I open the door I see James laying on the bed pretending to be sleeping.

"kenji..?" He asks pretending to have just woken up.

"oh hey James! I just forgot something under my bed, I just need to get it real quick." I tell him.

as I bend down I see her.

"oh— hello Kenji, nice seeing you here.!" She says smiling.

"ok, get up!" I smile.

"James? Do you remember what Adam told you-" I ask him, of course I don't care about that stupid rule of Adams, but I want to hear the reason for bringing Elena in here.

"yes, but I don't like the other kids here, and Elena seem to be cool, so I brought her here and we just talked, and kenji please don't tell Adam, he will get so mad at me!" James babble.

"kenji, don't tell Adam, I mean it was rude of him to forbid James to be with me, but I don't want him in trouble." Elena says.

I smile, "I won't tell"

and then they smile at each other.
